A Season of Renewal
HAPPY NEW YEAR! 2014 was a great year for Republicans in Maryland. We shocked the nation by electing Larry Hogan. Early in the campaign, Larry asked me if we could get him 38% of the vote in Montgomery County. I told him that we were ready to work our tails off for him, and we did. We delivered that 38% here and did our part to propel him into the Governor’s Mansion in Annapolis. The question facing us now is, how do we turn that 38% into 51%? That is our mission; that is what we are all working toward in 2015.
I am so proud of the strides we have made over the past several years in boosting our grassroots outreach efforts. We have developed a legion of hard-working, dedicated volunteers helping to spread our messages of freedom, prosperity and responsibility. But to overcome the deeply entrenched leftist elites that control the political machine in Montgomery County, we will need more than boots on the ground. To effectively communicate our message to a mass audience, we must overcome the twin obstacles of the lamestream media and our proximity to one of the most expensive media markets in the country. In order to prevail in this most important endeavor, we need to raise more money.
Later this week we will be sending out renewal letters to our Chairman’s Club donors, asking them to continue their financial support for the MCGOP. I urge all of you to please support our mission of getting Republicans elected and ending one party rule in Montgomery County. Your donation of $25, $50, $100, $250 or more will help us to: reach out to more newcomers to our county to increase Republican voter registration, set up Republican Clubs in our high schools and community colleges, produce Spanish-language literature demonstrating the natural fit between Hispanics and Republican ideals, and so much more. Please, won’t you consider making a donation today?
In the last newsletter I highlighted our new Business Outreach Committee. I am excited to report that we are also hard at work creating a new Youth Outreach Committee. It will be chaired long-time education and youth advocate, Ed Amatetti. Ed will be joined in this effort by three high school students who have shown a great deal of courage, leadership and initiative over the past year; they are the rising stars of our party, and I am so proud of their contributions. Additionally, our resurgent Young Republicans have been making great strides over the past several months. We are well on our way to eliminating the generational gap in party support here in Montgomery County.
Thank you so much for your support of the Republican Party. In order to reach the goals described in this message, we count on your continued support. Please donate today so that we can follow Larry Hogan’s lead. He ended one party rule in Maryland, now it is time for us to END ONE PARTY RULE in Montgomery County
