Ask Governor Hogan to VETO SB340/HB980

There is currently a link on MDPetitions.com asking Maryland Governor Larry Hogan to veto bill SB 340/HB 980.  This new law allows convicted felons to vote before they have completed their sentences. Current Maryland law allows convicted felons to vote after they have completed their sentence.  They need to have served their time in a correctional institution and to have completed any parole or probation time left. Once they have “paid back their debt to society,” their citizen right to vote is restored. If you believe convicted felons should have their right to vote restored only after they have paid back their “debt to society,” please ask Governor Hogan to veto this bill.
