Making Tracks to the Fair
By Martha Schaerr
From August 12-20 we’ll all be “Making Tracks to the Fair.” Please come and see us! Montgomery County hosts one of the largest events of the year anywhere in Maryland, and the MCGOP joins the fun again this year. From the carnival to the amateur cheese carving contest, there are lots of ways to participate.
While the MCGOP booth might not be as exciting as hanging upside down on the Orbiter, we have some great conversations with people who stop by. Many of them are so glad to see the GOP booth that they can’t resist coming over to vent about their pet issue or talk up their favorite candidate.
The GOP booth is also a great place to make friends. Some of our volunteers sign up so they can spend 3 hours talking about politics with Republicans, and other volunteers just come to listen. Either way, you can learn about candidates and issues and get lots of inside information.
Furthermore, it’s a very productive way to find Republicans who are willing to volunteer later in the year.
Come and meet our candidates! We expect all of them, except Donald Trump, to stop by. Kathy Szeliga and Amie Hoeber will be there on Tuesday, August 16, at 10 a.m. We’ll post on Facebook when we hear from Dan Cox and Mark Plaster about when they will be there.
Please sign up to volunteer at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0a48aead29a57-2015 or you can email firstname.lastname@example.org.
