Labor Day Marks the Start of Campaign Season
By Michael Higgs MCGOP Chairman
I hope you all had a wonderful Labor Day weekend, filled with family, fun, and perhaps even a little relaxation. Any relaxation had by members of your Montgomery County Republican Party will be their last until November 9. That is the day after we go to the polls to elect Donald Trump, Kathy Szeliga, Amie Hoeber, Dan Cox and Dr. Mark Plaster.
That is the day we give Hillary all the time she needs to prepare her defense against criminal allegations of handing state secrets over to our enemies. That is the day we send Pelosi lapdog VanHollen back to his developer and lawyer cronies to beg for more cash. That is the day we give Delaney a small taste of the whoopin Larry Hogan will lay on him if he dares challenge him for governor in 2018. That is the day radical, far-left Raskin can go back to being a warrior for his Takoma Park neighborhood.
But until then, we will be hard at work: making phone calls; knocking on doors; waving signs; signing up new Republican voters; putting up campaign signs; organizing precinct Election Day coverage; attending community events; marching in parades; handing out literature; and so much more. Won’t you join us in our race to November 8th?
Contact your local District Chair to find out how you can get involved and help our wonderful candidates cross the finish line. If you don’t know your District Chair, please contact Greg Decker at [email protected].
Don’t forget to come by MCGOP HQ to pick up your yard and window signs. We are open six days a week (closed Sundays) – however, sometimes our volunteers will be away running errands for the party, but will leave a note showing their planned return time. We have calling parties at HQ in the evenings on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. For more info on office hours or calling parties, please contact Dan McHugh at [email protected].
See you out on the campaign trail!
