Jewish Democrat Diaspora
By Brad Botwin
If the Obama Administration’s fanatical support for the nuclear deal with Iran’s radical leadership wasn’t enough for fellow Jews to abandon the Democrat Party in droves, the recent decision to abstain on the UN Security Council resolution targeted at Israel may just do the trick.
The resolution, passed by a 14-0 vote (with one abstention), declared that Israeli settlements on land in the West Bank and Jerusalem since the 1967 war have no legal validity and are a threat to a possible two state solution. All in the name of a “just and lasting peace,” according to Secretary of State John Kerry.
For the uninitiated, that effectively means that the Jewish Quarter in Jerusalem and the Western Wall of the Second Temple are illegally occupied by the Israelis. Seemingly one more step in delegitimizing the State of Israel if you ask me. Despite the uproar in the Jewish Community, not hearing much disagreement with that abstention vote from the Democrats’ fellow core constituents – Black Lives Matter, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the LGBTQ Community, environmental groups, the National Council of La Raza, or even Hillary Clinton for that matter.
Most disappointing was the lack of awareness and concern of the so-called Jewish Community groups in the region to the shockingly anti-Israeli position taken at the UN by the Obama team. Organizations like the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Washington and Jews United for Justice are at the forefront of pushing for “social justice” for Hispanic illegal immigrants, Syrian and Muslim refugees, Black Lives Matter types and other radical causes, but fall short on delivering for their number one constituency, American Jews.
Time to change affiliation for these poseurs as well.
