As a public service, we thought it would be a good time to warn you up front about the candidates that the far-Left will be dishing up this election season. Talk to your neighbors about them. Warn your friends!
Starters
Sheepshead Salad – Named after County Executive candidate Will Jawando, this salad has plenty of greens, from you, the taxpayers. The protein is marinated mutton, a reference to Jawando’s tendency to masquerade as a moderate voice.
Jawan-dough Soup – This soup pairs well with the above starter. But be careful – although the soup looks inviting at first glance, if it is left to stand, it takes on a somewhat sleazy appearance.
Entrees
The Eternal Elrich Egg – Avoid eating this delicacy, which is reminiscent of the Chinese delicacy, the hundred year egg. Like MoCo’s perpetual politician, this egg has been around for a long time. Like anything that stays too long, it can upset your stomach.
Friedson Fried Chicken – Even though his District 1 constituents engaged directly to show him that the “New Options for Workers” legislation he co-sponsored would have a detrimental effect on their neighborhoods, Andrew Friedson ignored them. Opponents like EPIC of MoCo say “Supporters of the zoning change claim it’s necessary to ‘unlock’ housing options. But in reality, it’s not about what can be built—it's about removing public oversight and fast-tracking development without safeguards for affordability, infrastructure, or displacement." Was Friedson too chicken to offend his developer friends? Is his political future “fried”?
Desserts
Mindless Mink Mousse - A light and fluffy dessert made by folding whipped cream into a flavored base. In June, 2023, Councilmember Mink made national news when she spoke against parents’ right to guide their children’s education according to their religious beliefs. The basic question here is “What was she thinking, if anything?”
Julie Yang Yogurt Parfait – A layered dish made with yogurt, fruit, and granola. As so many of these dishes are, this one is pleasing to the eye. Take a little taste. What could it hurt? No, we’ve been there before, and it was a disaster. Avoid this dish at all costs.
Drinks
Fani-González Gimlet - A cocktail made with gin and lime juice, sometimes sweetened. Named for Council President Natali Fani-Gonzalez, this drink will knock you out cold, making it impossible for you to hear. The Council President also seems to have a lot of trouble hearing what her constituents have to say.
The Sgt. Shultz Sipper – This drink refers to Democrat Socialist, Marc Elrich. During a County Executive Candidate Forum in 2022 (0:29), Elrich said, “In Montgomery County we have absolutely no idea when anything in the master plan will be built because we have no idea what the cashflow needs to be or how we are going to get the cashflow to make those projects possible.” He didn’t know where the money was coming from or where it was going. But wasn’t it his job to find out? Do we really want him back on the County Council? No indeed.
It will take a few hard boiled souls who have just had enough, thank you, to run for public office. There are several positions to choose from, and your efforts will be greatly appreciated. Don’t forget to file by 9pm on February 24th. Thank you!
