Larry Hogan and Boyd Rutherford were rewarded for four years of hard work and success with an overwhelming mandate for another 4 years, and we could not be happier. We often rail about the lack of empathy, the lack of cooperation, and the pettiness of so many of our elected officials.

Governor Hogan has shown a different way. Governor Hogan has proven that you can arrive at common ground, you can disagree without being disagreeable, and you can bring voters from all parts of our very diverse state together for our common good.

40 Years Fighting for Maryland Republicans

The Montgomery County Republican Party (MCGOP) will offer a tribute to Ambassador Ellen Sauerbrey at the February 23^rd 2019 MCGOP Convention in Gaithersburg for her four decades as a standard bearer for Republican efforts and values in Maryland. We hope you will join us and pay tribute to her life long work in support of the Republican Party and paving the way for Republican Women to serve in leadership positions in the Maryland General Assembly.

Dennis Melby, Alex Bush and I attended the Committee for Montgomery’s Annual Legislative Breakfast on December 13, 2018.   Key speakers included Senator Chris Van Hollen, Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich, Montgomery County Council President Nancy Navarro, State Senator Craig Zucker and Delegate Mark Korman (LD-16).

I look forward to working with you all as we face the challenges and opportunities of a new year. The Republican Party in Montgomery County is 130,000 strong and together we can accomplish great things. While the challenges that lie ahead are daunting, they are by no means insurmountable. We are in the midst of revamping our organizational efforts and re-connecting with other groups that have similar goals. So, with your help, we will be ready to seize these opportunities and face these challenges as they come.

On January 16, 2019, Governor Lawrence J. Hogan will preside over the inaugural events that mark the beginning of his second four-year term as governor of Maryland. He was overwhelmingly re-elected to a second four-year term on November 6, 2018, receiving the most votes of any Maryland gubernatorial candidate, and becoming only the second Republican governor to be re-elected in the 242-year history of the state.

Since we are in the off-season now, many of you may be wondering what the Good Doctor is going to be talking about, since we have no state-wide elections in 2019.  Don’t let your heart be troubled. Just like the Redskins, we have a lot of work to do in the off-season (Note: we are in better shape than the Redskins).  If you are thinking about running again in 2020 or 2022, you need to keep your name ID out there. But how do I do that, you ask?  Well I’m glad you asked, because I’d like to answer the question of how to stay relevant in the off-season.
