Let's Get Ready to Rumble!
Snow and Ice, wind and rain. What a way to start a MoCo week!
Kids are home and grocery shelves were picked bare. I haven’t seen this many empty shelves since Covid!
Stay toasty inside and read your Republican literature via internet. What an opportunity!
Things are heating up politically; the State and Governor Moore are trying to get rid of any Republican representation in the State. They’re counting on redistricting and making districts non-competitive for Republicans. What a mess and so unfair! Although they’re trying to limit political diversity in the dead of night, many of us are speaking out. There's lots to this – it’s whether you want to hand the keys to the far left or let more moderate voices lead our State and County.
I’ve had a busy week:
- I had a great leadership meeting on Tuesday
- I introduced new candidates on Thursday
- I held a Coffee with the Chairman on Saturday.
I’m expecting a lot of candidates to step up and register to run for office in the next three weeks – and I’m available to listen to voters about our needs. Our Mid Term elections are a must win – and we need to get the vote out and be competitive. Stay tuned for how we can work together.
We need fun too. Join me at the Lunar New Year dinner, great friends, good food, super candidates and an inspirational speaker. Buy your tickets now to get the best price.
And if that’s not enough – Join me in the Chairman’s Club (see below). We need to get the word out to the voters that our Republican Party can provide sensible, moderate voices in elected office – and you can help.

Your Feedback Matters
Thanks to those who sent feedback! Here are some comments that we received last week:
Remembering Martin Luther King Jr.
Thanks Sully. It saddens me greatly that he isn’t here to guide those poor mislead souls in Minnesota. Clearly, protests even as mislead as this would be peaceful and certainly not enter a house of worship, in anger and mistrust, claiming that they are Christians.
We, even in Montgomery county, need Martin’s blessings.

A Tale of Two Worthless Bills

Politicians talk about problems; We solve problems.

The Montgomery County Council’s efforts to virtue signal through legislation does a huge disservice to the citizens of Montgomery County. Two bills have been recently introduced that will do nothing but waste the Council’s valuable time and potentially cost the county millions of Dollars in Federal aid.
The first of these ridiculous bills is named The County Values Act, Bill 3-26, led by Councilmember Kristen Mink (District 5). This bill aims to prohibit ICE Agents from entering Montgomery County buildings without a judicial warrant, and further attempts to restrict their access to everything from buildings to garages to public spaces. The introduction of such a worthless piece of legislation shows that Councilmember Mink has absolutely no understanding of immigration or federal law. U.S. immigration law does not require ICE Agents to have a judicial warrant to apprehend Unlawful Aliens. Immigration law is considered an Administrative Proceeding and is very different from criminal law. Administrative Warrants (Form I-200/I-205), issued and signed by immigration officials within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), authorize an officer to arrest an individual for immigration violations. Judicial Warrants, traditionally, have only been required to enter a private residence to apprehend. But even this interpretation has recently been changed and will most likely require the Federal Courts to render a decision. Furthermore, no lesser jurisdiction (such as a State or County) can impede ICE agents from executing these Administrative Warrants, and any effort to do so could be viewed as Obstruction of an Official Proceeding (18 U.S.C. § 1505) – a Felony. Lastly, the county has no legal authority to prohibit ICE Agents from access to parking garages, county buildings, or other public spaces. This is just plain silly and has no basis in law.

House Republicans Issue Statement on Vote of Governor’s Redistricting Commission
(Annapolis, MD) – House Republicans today issued a statement on the vote of the Governor’s Redistricting Commission to move forward with a gerrymandered map.
“The Redistricting Commission’s vote today confirmed what we have been saying all along: that this Commission had nothing to do with fairness, nothing to do with the wants and needs of our citizens, and, quite frankly, nothing to do with Maryland,” said House Minority Leader Jason Buckel. “Instead, this Commission has everything to do with D.C. partisan politics and the desires of the Democratic National Committee. This Commission was merely a drawn-out political sham with a pre-determined outcome: to rid Maryland of any Republican representation in Congress and disenfranchise voters in Western Maryland and the Eastern Shore. Nothing drives this home more than their absurd end product.”
“Maryland has a long and storied history of being one of the worst gerrymandered states in America, and the Commission’s actions today further solidifies that legacy,” said House Minority Whip Jesse Pippy. “It is a shame that, with all the challenges facing Maryland – budget deficits, children dying in state custody, Marylanders unable to afford their electric bills, that this has been the Governor’s priority. It is outrageous.”
