FORMER MARYLAND STATE SENATOR GAIL BATES ENDORSES JOHN MYRICK FOR GOVERNOR OF MARYLAND
Ellicott City, MD – Former Maryland State Senator, Member of the House of Delegates, and Member of the Maryland State Board of Education Gail Bates of Howard County endorsed John Myrick in his bid to become Maryland’s next Governor last evening during the Howard County Republican Club’s Monthly Meeting in Ellicott City. In her endorsement, Senator Bates stated,
“As a former member of the Maryland General Assembly, I fully believe we need a Governor who will serve the good people of Maryland first and govern with honesty and fairness. I am proud to endorse John Myrick to be our next Governor of Maryland. John is a true Public Servant, and that’s what Maryland needs. John's background, leadership skills, and expertise will set the course to restore prosperity to our State. Maryland doesn't need another politician - Maryland needs John Myrick as our next Governor.”
In response to the endorsement of Senator Bates, Myrick commented, “I am truly honored to receive the endorsement of such an esteemed and accomplished public servant as Senator Bates. Her long record of service to Maryland is unrivaled. To have her full faith and confidence is powerful.”
Senator Gail Bates was a member of the Maryland Senate from 2015 to 2019 and a member of the Maryland House of Delegates from 2002 to 2015. As a member of the Maryland General Assembly, serving in both the Maryland Senate and Maryland House of Delegates, Ms. Bates served on the Appropriations Committee, the Joint Committee on Children, Youth, and Families, and the Special Joint Committee on Pensions. She was appointed to the Maryland State Board of Education in 2019. Senator Bates previously taught mathematics and home economics in Anne Arundel County.
