WE WIN - NO ASSISTED SUICIDE

We Win!! 

On Friday Mar 1'^st  State Senate President Ferguson announced Maryland’s Assisted Suicide Bill ( SB 443)  bill is done for the year.  An extraordinary turnout by a bi-partisan coalition of Maryland voters killed the bill. 

A group of Maryland Churches and Organizations like Health Not Harm and Mom’s for Liberty organized well over 150,000 emails, phone calls and texts to legislators opposing the bills. 

Two of the bill’s prominent sponsor’s are from LD-18 up the Connecticut Ave corridor through Kensington  - Sen. Jeff Waldstreicher (Dem-LD-18 Montgomery) and Delegate Aaron Kaufman (Dem - LD-18 Montgomery). 

The bill is expected to be re-introduced in the 2025 legislative session.  The opposition this year must be seen as a long-term effort to change Maryland.
