All is Lost – Or is It?

Which one of you, in your wildest imagination, would have believed that we would wake up on November 6, 2020 and discover that through an obviously rigged election, Americans had put into office a demented, clueless and dangerous president, who in a matter of days, would employ some 40 executive orders – with no regard for the damage many of these would cause – simply to destroy his predecessor’s programs, many of which were well on their way to making America Great Again?

We have become well aware of the accuracy of George Orwell’s Animal Farm, published in August 1945, during the closing weeks of the Pacific War, reminding us that leftist totalitarianism inevitably becomes far worse than the supposed parasitical capitalists they so fervently want destroyed.

Orwell, early on, understood that the desire for power stamps out all ideological pretenses. This is what we are facing today, an untouchable ruling clique that is central to all totalitarian movements. A rigged election, executed and protected by the “Deep State,” has instilled powerful elements into our government, who claim to help the helpless and downtrodden, while blatantly consolidating personal power of the ruling elites.

Now, although less violent, but no less bizarre and disturbing, the American Left is the ruling clique. What is particularly upsetting is that the Left’s long path of destruction through our cultural, economic and social institutions is nearing completion, and we have not yet put up a serious fight. The question arises, is it too late to save the Republic? After all, the Left may talk of revolutionary transformation, but their agenda is to help friends and punish enemies, while keeping and expanding their authority. 

Today, the Left essentially controls all the levers of American cultural influence and power: the media, the federal bureaucracies, Wall Street, Silicon Valley, publishing, the military and military academies, universities, K-12 education, professional sports, and entertainment. 

We are now experiencing their unapologetic use of censorship, electronic surveillance, internal spying, monopolies, cartels, conspiracy theories, weaponization of the intelligence agencies, billions of dollars of dark money poured into campaigns, changing voting laws by fiat, a woke revolutionary military, book banning, bleeding the First Amendment, canceling careers, blacklisting, separate-but-equal racial segregation and separatism.

The list of their transgressions is long, so long in fact that many, if not most of us are resigned to the fact that the Republic is lost, that anarchy and tyranny will cleanse this country of its last pockets of patriotism, and that the animals will be running the farm in a way that would horrify those who fought and died for this great country.

There is one area where we still have the opportunity to fight back against the evolving tyranny, and that is in the state legislatures

Currently, a majority of governors and their legislatures are “red,” if not wholly conservative. If we are going to win this battle and preserve the Republic, it will be because the state legislatures win it for us. The states need to pass state laws that slow the cascade of Federal mandates. They need to resist, and sue to stop the Feds’ worst policies and laws as some are now doing over 2A and gun rights as well as other issues that concern and harm Americans. 

If enough states push back hard enough, we have a chance of reversing course or, at least, slowing the “bleeding.” I am calling on all you patriots. Do not settle! Refuse to leave this mess to your children! Refuse to adjust! Revolt against the reality and stand against the tyranny!
