California: Highest gas prices in USA at $4.64 per regular gas

By Peter Huessy

The average price for a gallon of regular gas in the United States is around $3.05, according to recent data from sources like AAA and the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Prices can vary significantly by state and have recently decreased from a month ago. The lowest price is $2.70 /gal for regular.

California has the highest gas prices in the USA at $4.64 per gallon of regular gas. So the California cost is $1.80 a gallon higher for regular gas.

If you drive 15,000 miles a year and get 30 miles per gallon, that’s 500 gallons X $1.80 or $900 more per person. Family with 2 drivers increases your costs by $1800.00.

Go California.
