Chairman's Message

We are entering election season. This means a new round of gas lighting by political candidates.

Take for instance Evan Glass proudly proclaiming success of the County “MOVE Act” stating that 55 businesses have moved / expanded in Montgomery County. He fails to mention that many businesses have left the County including the defense contractor Raytheon, Clark Construction and their $4 billion in revenue. Most recently, AstraZeneca the pharmaceutical giant has elected to invest in a multi-billion dollar facility in Virginia, after Marc Elrich touts the county as a bio-tech hub. Way to go guys

Will Jawando’s  battle cry to defund the police and remove resource officers from schools as they are a “pipeline to prison” is a classic. Does Jawando, who is running to be the next County Executive, really think that the citizens of Montgomery County don’t want the police? It only takes one criminal to change the life of an innocent person. Look at the County’s own crime map:  https://data.montgomerycountymd.gov/Public-Safety/Crime-Incident-Map/df95-9nn9

Maybe Jawando should just pay his traffic tickets https://youtu.be/ddPbOwimHYQ .

One of my favorites is Marc Elrich stating that the reason businesses are not relocating to Montgomery County is the lack of bus transportation. Have you ever driven next to one of his BRT buses? They are empty. The MCDOT’s own data shows that these 80 - 40 foot long, gas guzzling behemoths are, on average, only 28% utilized, cost over $13.60 per mile to operate and log over 4,700 miles per day. Expect your tax dollars to mandate unused buses getting their own travel lane on major roads next to the unused bike lanes https://youtu.be/tiVGqaGtHIU all in the name of saving energy. Please, Marc.

The tactics of the current County Executive and Council divide voters by race, geography, religion, and of course political party. They don’t have solutions to the real issues like taxes, education, and public safety that cross all artificial labels and affect the lives of all County residents. An example of this is the Boundary Analysis Study that will be used to institute school bussing in the name of “diversity” per the introductory video from School Superintendent Taylor https://youtu.be/0EGSBr3MXQE.

You can’t fix a problem until you acknowledge and understand it. The County Executive and County Council only pay attention to a small, vocal minority. They don’t understand the dynamics or economics of business; the implementation of rent control is having the opposite effect on the housing market. As recently reported, the permits for multifamily construction have crashed from over 1200 to 7 in Qtr1 – 2025 https://montgomeryperspective.com/2025/07/31/the-lonely-death-of-mocos-multifamily-rental-market/ )

People that can move out of the County are moving. The number of people in the County is decreasing. Also disturbing is that the people leaving are in the higher income brackets which is rapidly eroding our tax base.

We need elected officials who see the world as it is, not through the glass on their ivory towers. We need elected officials who are willing to make hard choices in implementation, budgets, and who listen to the hardworking core of the County.

We must decide to “suffer, flee or fight”…

Please help us shine a light on this gas lighting and make positive change in Montgomery County. https://www.mcgop.com/

Are you ready for the election season gas lighting?
