CHANGE IS IN THE AIR

We’re engaged in this election like none I remember.

Talk to your neighbors at the polls, talk to your family and friends, this one seems so important.

Lots more people are voting by mail – including Republicans who were reticent to do that, and usually only come out on election day. Early voting all around the county, and all around the country, has been strong. Even in the hurricane ravaged areas of North Carolina folks are standing in line to have their votes counted. A change is in the air. Can you feel it?

We probably won’t know on election night what the result is, perhaps even days later, the polls have been wrong the past three elections so don’t go to Vegas and bet on them! But if you're like me you can see that groups seem to be realigning, that’s what four years of hardship seem to do.

You speak to so many folks you think are going one way and they surprise you. Workers groups, minority groups, even immigrant groups with American citizenship – they all seem to want change.

Make your voice heard, vote as soon as you can, and we'll be standing with you.

We are ready for November 6 - and beyond - and we’ll see if the election results will be contentious or accepted.  If you remember 2016 we'll probably see that again, a free and fair election is what our country needs. And getting that will do a lot to bring the country together.
