The state of Maryland elects 8 representatives to the U.S. Congress every 2 years. Montgomery County is split primarily between 2 Congressional Districts, Districts 6 and 8, along with a very small bit of a third district, District 4.

Montgomery County Legislative Districts:
The State of Maryland has 47 legislative districts. There are 8 complete legislative districts in Montgomery County and a small portion of a ninth. Each legislative district elects a single State Senator and 3 Delegates to the Maryland General Assembly every 4 years.

Montgomery County Council Districts:
Montgomery County has a County Executive and a County Council with a total of 11 council members with 4 members elected At-Large and 7 members elected from each of 7 Council Districts.

Montgomery County Board of Education Districts:
The existence of these districts is very misleading because while candidates must reside in a particular district to run from that district, ALL Voters vote for All the candidates. They are essentially all At-Large representatives which minimizes the chance of anyone with an opposing view breaking into this body. And as for being "non-partisan" races, notice that the perennial "Apple ballot" from the teacher's unions' has their endorsed candidates for Board of Education front and center with the rest of the Democrats they support.
