It’s Time To Restore Maryland: Common Sense and Good Governance
My story begins at Shady Grove Hospital in Gaithersburg, Maryland, where I was born on August 18, 1995. I attended Quality Time Early Learning Center, and my family was very involved in the Presbyterian Church, where I have my earliest memories. I moved to Brookeville, Maryland, and played football for the St. Peter’s Panthers. Later, I became a three-year varsity letterman on the football team at Sherwood High School. I moved down south to the Bible Belt and attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where I tried out for the football team and earned a scholarship within six months. I received all-conference honors, started thirty-five games, and helped deliver the first championship in school history.
Following my successful athletic career, I actively participated in community service and civic engagement, aiming to make a positive impact in my home state. I enrolled at Washington University in St. Louis School of Law to earn my master's in law and better grasp the complex issues surrounding public policy and American common law. I became actively involved in my community by organizing clothing drives, participating in political campaigns, testifying before the Budget and Taxation Committee, and ultimately running for a seat on the school board. I also expanded my professional experience by creating a construction company to generate jobs. I was elected secretary of the Montgomery County Taxpayers League, started an organization called Restore Maryland to connect with voters, and was elected as an at-large member of the Montgomery County Republican Central Committee.
During this time, I learned how extreme and radical our state government is. We witnessed the passage of the largest tax bill ever, at $1.6 billion, while the state budget increased to $67 billion. We saw legislation to restrict parental rights in education (HB161). Maryland ratepayers face utility costs that are 73% higher than any other PJM states due to our limited energy production, driven by our participation in the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative and laws like the Climate Solutions Act. Juvenile recidivism remains a serious threat to public safety, mainly because lawmakers haven't introduced legislation to hold repeat offenders accountable or supported the philosophical approach in DJS that opposes detention. This inaction has led to the closure of businesses near Columbia Mall as customers worry about violent crimes committed by juveniles. Despite 75% of Maryland residents supporting expanded voucher programs, lawmakers continue to refuse full funding for MDBOOST. Residents in my district are concerned about the conversion of farmland into solar farms, which poses a serious threat to our agricultural viability and the rural communities that rely on farming. This issue has arisen due to our compliance with the solar lobby and the enactment of the Renewable Energy Certainty Act (RECA).
We urgently need common sense and effective governance in our state. My opponents, Natalie Ziegler and Chao Wu, have consistently failed to promote this need for good governance and strong representation in District 9A. They have either supported the harmful policies listed above or refused to oppose legislation that actively harms our constituents. The facts are, my opponents are Democrat lackeys who aren’t genuinely interested in representing their districts well in Annapolis. They were pushed in by the Democrat establishment through partisan gerrymandering to expand their majority, allowing them to continue using the people of Maryland as ATMs to increase taxes and state spending every year, pass harmful farmland laws, restrict parental involvement in education, and allow juvenile crime to flourish while they sit by idly.
Unlike my opponents, I will be a strong advocate for residents in my district. My focus will be on local issues, not national grievances, and I will not blindly support bills that harm my district. I will demand meaningful tax relief to lower costs, support business growth and job creation, offer comprehensive energy solutions to reduce energy bills, ensure services and accountability for juveniles who re-offend, give parents a choice in their children's education, and protect agricultural farmland in my district. A vote for Fitzgerald Mofor in District 9A is a vote for pragmatism, common sense, and good governance!
Thank you for your attention on this matter. Please join us in this endeavor to restore Maryland and flood our campaign coffers with donations. Your generous efforts will allow us to spread our message far and wide across the district. God bless you, Maryland and America!
