HELP LIMIT MOCO SPENDING!

Tired of the crazy spending by the MoCo government? Want to do something about it? You’re in luck! You can join the effort HERE.

In 2024, many of you helped the Committee for Better Government limit the County Executive to two four-year terms. Now, the Committee to Control MoCo Spending is starting a new petition to get a question on the ballot in 2026. Their website explains the mission. “ ‘Control MoCo Spending’  (CMS) was formed to limit the County spending to the prior year's  Consumer Price Index (CPI). The County Executive and County Council have a long history of lavish spending relative to our metropolitan neighbors, and raising taxes in all forms. We currently find ourselves with yet another round of tax increases occurring in under two years. The purpose of this ballot petition is to secure enough signatures to get the question on the ballot for the 2026 election.”

Voters of all affiliations are tired of the county government spending our tax money on their bad ideas. In fact, most of the signers of the term limits petition were Democrats.

A few of the bad ideas that the county government has had include:

  • All electric homes (Building Energy Performance Standards)
  • Road diets
  • Banning gas leaf blowers
  • Electric buses

The petition is expected to be ready by the end of April 2025. Just like last time, petition circulators will fan out across the county to collect signatures by door knocking and at events and grocery stores. You name it – they’ll be there!

Stay tuned for more details. Bring your energy and enthusiasm. Join the fun! You did it before and you CAN do it again! THANK YOU!!!
