*Should Montgomery County be allowed to change the speed limits on any road within its boundaries without having to do either an engineering study or traffic study?
*Should the Montgomery County Council be authorized to adopt, by law, the use of ranked-choice voting for certain local offices?
These are two of the Big Questions that may be addressed by state legislation that could be introduced by the Montgomery County State Delegation, a 19-member group of Senators and Delegates representing all of Montgomery County, in next year's 90-day session of the Maryland General Assembly.
On MONDAY, NOVEMBER 17, at 7 PM, the MoCo State Delegation will hold its LEGISLATIVE PRIORITIES HEARING, via Zoom. The Priorities Hearing provides an opportunity for Montgomery County residents and organizations to present their legislative priorities to the members of the Delegation.
IN OTHER WORDS, IT'S YOUR CHANCE TO LET YOUR STATE REPRESENTATIVES KNOW WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE THEM TO BE WORKING ON IN THE 2026 SESSION.
+++If you or your organization would like to testify at Monday's Priorities Hearing, you MUST sign up no later than this FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 14, at 5 PM.+++
