Why To Vote
VOTE FOR ME - I'M A GAY JEW
Just like you - before every election I get a load of campaign mail, emails and social media posts telling me why I should vote for particular folks. Because I’ve worked so long in the non-partisan world and supported and donated to both Democrats and Republicans I get requests from all sides.
One guy running for County Executive as a Democrat sent a perplexing message, I’m a Gay Jew - …vote for me.
That’s no reason to get a vote – neither vote for nor against someone to lead your government because of their color, gender, religion, ethnicity, orientation, age, or a whole slew of other categories. Not even simply because of their Party.
NEITHER VOTE FOR NOR AGAINST SOMEONE FOR THAT REASON
Choose someone you agree with, someone you can see making good decisions on your behalf – and on behalf of other people. It’s trust, it’s confidence, and often you can’t quite put you hand on why you respect them but you can tell they’re the one to lead the government on your behalf.
- Will they keep taxes reasonable?
- Will they support schools that actually teach the students STEM, values and truth?
- Will they protect teachers, staff and students?
- Keep boys out of girls bathrooms?
- Keep boys out of girl’s sports?
- Will they respect ALL races and religions?
- Will they DEFUND or defend Police?
- Will they support democratic capitalism or communistic socialism?
The list goes on and on, but you get the picture. Think carefully, don’t choose single party government, don’t choose for trivial reasons, choose wisely and choose the best. Your future depends on it. Our future depends on it.
…Oh, by the way, that guy didn’t make it.

_____________
Hi Dennis, Thank you for honoring the memory of Senator Lindsey Graham in a thoughtful and beautiful manner.
You also reminded readers of the people who are quick to use repulsive political hostility and bigotry to defame an honorable person who championed the rights of all women.
May Senator Lindsey Graham rest in peace.

DON'T EVEN TRY
Last week when I spoke to the Maryland Hispanic Caucus in Gaithersburg I got a lot of pushback from other Republicans around the state.
I said in Montgomery County we need to talk to both unaffiliated and Democrat voters, the moderate and conservative folks who are worried about the direction of their party. We have great candidates for a number of offices - many of them immigrant Americans who have lived under socialist and communist authoritarian governments which pretty much destroyed their societies and countries. "We can't let it happen here!" they all say.
TALK TO THE DEMOCRATS
"Don't bother," some said. "The Democrats will NEVER vote for us! We've tried."
I think we can.
I think we must. Our future and the future of our democracy are at stake.
Tell me what you think. Let me know at [email protected]. And take this survey, let's see what the majority thinks. (You'd be SURPRISED how many Democrats are avid readers of our newsletter - The Party Line.)
