RESTORING AMERICA

By Lori Jaffe

President Trump has been in office for about two weeks, and we already see several positive changes. He is standing up an infrastructure led by strong men and women who are dedicated to restoring America. Through his executive orders, and by rescinding some invoked by the previous president, he has taken the reigns of our federal government and is turning it around. “To commence the policies that will make our Nation united, fair, safe, and prosperous again, it is the policy of the United States to restore common sense to the Federal Government and unleash the potential of the American citizen.  The revocations within this order will be the first of many steps the United States Federal Government will take to repair our institutions and our economy.” Here are a few examples:

Securing Our Borders

“Sec. 2.  Policy.  It is the policy of the United States to take all appropriate action to secure the borders of our Nation through the following means:

(a)  Establishing a physical wall and other barriers monitored and supported by adequate personnel and technology;

(b)  Deterring and preventing the entry of illegal aliens into the United States;

(c)  Detaining, to the maximum extent authorized by law, aliens apprehended on suspicion of violating Federal or State law, until such time as they are removed from the United States;

(d)  Removing promptly all aliens who enter or remain in violation of Federal law;”

According to Fox News, “Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) made nearly 1,000 arrests on Sunday (January 26), with lots of activity taking place in the southeastern United States, according to various ICE field offices.

The agency said law enforcement officers arrested 956 people and lodged 554 detainers, which means ‘there's probable cause to believe that the person is removable from the United States under federal immigration law.’”

Just Add Water

On January 20th, President Trump issued an Executive Order: Putting People Over Fish – Stopping Radical Environmentalism to Provide Water to Southern California.

“During my first term, the State of California, at the direction of its Governor, filed a lawsuit to stop my Administration from implementing improvements to California’s water infrastructure.  My Administration’s plan would have allowed enormous amounts of water to flow from the snow melt and rainwater in rivers in Northern California to beneficial use in the Central Valley and Southern California.  This catastrophic halt was allegedly in protection of the Delta smelt and other species of fish.  Today, this enormous water supply flows wastefully into the Pacific Ocean.

The recent deadly and historically destructive wildfires in Southern California underscore why the State of California needs a reliable water supply and sound vegetation management practices in order to provide water desperately needed there, and why this plan must immediately be reimplemented.”

Four days after taking office, President Trump visited California to meet with Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass to discuss restoration in LA.

President Donald Trump and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass argued over the timing of when displaced residents can legally return to their properties to clear out debris after the recent fires.

Restoring Honor

On January 27th, President Trump signed “Reinstating Service Members Discharged Under the Military’s COVID-19 Vaccination Mandate.”

The Executive Order makes reinstatement available to all members of the military (active and reserve) who were discharged solely for refusal to receive the COVID-19 vaccine and who request to be reinstated and allows those members to revert to their former rank and receive full back pay, benefits, bonus payments, or compensation.

These are just a few examples of the changes that President Trump and his new administration have made so far. They have taken on a daunting task. But with our support, we believe they will be able to Make America Great Again.
