County Executive Marc Elrich has big plans for us. He is very proud of his work on climate change. He recently visited China to try to establish business relations. But does he represent our values? Is he really a leader, or merely a follower of the Left? You can help the Committee for Better Government limit him to two terms, but you must act soon. Ten thousand valid signatures must be gathered by August 2024. (See below).

In 2021, Elrich unveiled his MoCo Climate Action Plan. “The urgency of climate change inspires Montgomery County to serve as a model for other jurisdictions,” he said. “Collectively, communities across the State of Maryland, the country and the world must tackle climate action at the scale that is necessary to curb the cataclysmic social, environmental and economic impacts of climate change.”

Last month, Elrich mocked (0:44) those who don’t see climate change as an urgent issue. “66 years of ignoring stuff,” “…I think it’s really hard to ignore things that are in front of your face for that long.” Yet, he is currently courting China’s (13:45) biofield and industrial groups. If he brings technology from China, what will we be supporting through our tax dollars? What is Elrich himself ignoring?

Elrich is proud that his administration is responsible for the Seneca Village project, the biggest solar panel affordable housing project in MoCo. Solar panels are a major export of China. Where were the Seneca Village solar panels manufactured? Who profited from our money? In 2022, renewable energy supply chains producing solar panels and wind turbines were linked to forced labor in China. We wonder what the County Executive has to say about this. We’ll let you know if we hear back.

The Chinese people have endured decades of suffering at the hands of their rulers. In 2023, Xi Van Fleet, who spoke at the MCGOP Lunar New Year Celebration, was interviewed for The Freedom Records.  In the video, she talks about the abolishment of the “four olds…old tradition, old idea, old custom and old habit.” Mao wanted to get rid of the old Chinese traditional culture to make room for the Marxist ideology. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) now controls all aspects of Chinese life, including where their people can live, work, and even what they can think. You name it, their government controls it.

“China has been accused of committing crimes against humanity and possibly genocide" against those who want to think for themselves. Those who try to practice their religion are required to attend indoctrination camps. The Chinese government calls them “schools,” not “prisons.” But as the BBC explained (turn on sub-titles), if you can’t go home, you are in prison. Last month, Secretary Blinken said "… in Xinjiang, the PRC continues to carry out genocide, crimes against humanity, forced labor, and other human rights violations against predominantly Muslim Uyghurs and members of other ethnic and religious minority groups.”

All of the above information is publicly available. Yet Marc Elrich and his administration continue to march on like lemmings to the sea. We need to change our course.

Marc Elrich wants to run for a third 4-year term as County Executive in 2026. Do you think he is a leader who shares your values? Please volunteer to hold him to two terms.
