Thoughts on Progressives

By Paul Agle

To understand the cancel culture, you have to understand Progressives.

“Godless communist” is an epithet in most of America, except for “West Wokistan” (California) and “East Wokistan” (DC).  “Secular progressives” are best understood as the successors to the “Godless Communists.”

Progressives can be identified by their relationship to “Virtue Signaling.” Since Progressives have none of the seven virtues, they tend to compensate by their acts of faux virtue (“virtue signaling”) to show they know what virtues are – and miss badly.

The term “Progressive” is commonly used to describe people who are dishonest, immoral, narcissistic, self-absorbed, self-centered, America-hating, intolerant, unethical and self-deluded.  Progressives hate America. Not only do they loathe responsibility and have zero tolerance for risk, but they also have zero tolerance for those who disagree with them.

They respond to hard data in unpredictable and irrational ways.  While they believe that life in America is better than in other countries, they have concluded that this is unfair and probably due to “White Privilege”- and they mean to fix it.  They believe in equality of outcome, not equality of opportunity.  They literally hate Christians, conservatives, and Republicans. Progressivism is best viewed as a shared delusion.  They hate the undeluded, and do not wish to hear their politically incorrect opinions.  By excluding the right, they gradually gain control of any institution they join. They are bullies and thugs.  They are defacto terrorists.

Progressives’ tools of choice are fear, threats, harassment, intimidation, and discrimination.  They exercise the heckler’s veto, or tyranny of the minority.  The progressive organization BAMN illustrates the problem they pose.  “By Any Means Necessary” means all options are on the table.  It is an unveiled threat to use any means required, such as burning and looting downtown areas as a means of political persuasion, or openly cheating to win an election.  By having no morals, ethics, honesty or integrity, progressives enjoy a tactical advantage.

To understand them, you have to understand their rules (Saul Alinsky’s 12 Rules for Radicals) and that they are using “1984”, “Fahrenheit 451.” “Animal Farm” and “Harrison Bergeron” as training literature.  “Words are violence,” “silence is violence,” “mostly peaceful protest” are too close to “war is peace” and “freedom is slavery.”  Some frightening recent college 1984ish headlines include the following: “NCSU mandatory diversity training includes ‘whitesplaining’ toxic masculinity’ and ‘hate speech’ lessons” and “College defends its ‘White Citizenship as a Terrorism’ event.” This sort of indoctrination is more typical of communist countries than the US. “Hate Speech” is a clever concept that allows demonization and censorship of non-progressive ideas.

Saul Alinsky's Rule 12 is: “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it. Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.”  This explains why progressives go after individuals, harassing them in restaurants, cancelling them, protesting at people's homes. They are trying to create a climate of fear.  Fear driven self-censorship does most of their work for them.

Progressives follow the Animal Farm slogan, “All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others,” in that they believe the rules do not apply to them.

Progressives are getting worse because they have not been resisted.  Community policing reduces murder by stopping the small criminals and petty thieves that unchecked, become murderers.  Progressives have been unchecked.  And if we don't take action, they will keep getting worse.  How much worse?  Well, 1/3 of the far left believe violence is an option for pursuing political goals.  That is 2.6 TIMES as many as 4 years ago.

Some browsing of the Holocaust Museum site was a little disturbing.  The tactics of progressives are frighteningly similar to those of the National Socialists.

That the militant arm of progressives is called “ANTIFA” is also revealing.  ANTIFA is literally the mirror image of FA.  Fascists and Anti-Fascists use identical tactics to opposite ends.

Fascists rewrite history to make their country seem nobler and more positive. Anti-fascists rewrite history to make it darker and depict their country as ignoble.  Fascists are patriotic, Anti-Fascists despise their country (they are trying to break it after all).  Fascists want to make the country better.  Anti-Fascists want to make the country worse.  Both groups control the press.  Both groups control education.  Both groups tend to coerce the general public by using fear, threats, harassment and intimidation tactics until they obtain political control. Both groups work to undermine and eliminate democratic institutions.  The attack on election integrity is not a surprise.

It is not fair to compare Fascists to Anti-Fascists.  Anti-Fascists are much worse.  This is part of the reason why Socialism has killed more people than Fascism.  But neither totalitarian viewpoint has worked out well in practice.

What progressives are doing is, by definition, sedition.  “Disturbance of public tranquility” is their modus operandi.

The bottom line – the current education system has created a generation of self-appointed American Cheka (secret police).  A complete failure by Republican leadership allowed it to exist and metastasize.  Republican leaders who do not step up and take charge of defending the constitutional rights of their supporters against these terrorists as job #1, do not deserve the support of Republican voters.
