Have we reached a turning point in America, the point where we must decide whether we are going to be a Judeo-Christian, free country or a secular and statist country?
As citizens, we are going to have to face the fact that we cannot go on like this; the culture war and the war on citizenship are destroying our country, particularly our middle class, along with the fundamental founding principles and eternal truths on which this country was built.
The United States is the only country in the world that, to this point, has pulled off the integration of a multitude of races, cultures and beliefs into a unified country, “E Pluribus Unum.”
And yet, we are in the process of destroying those bonds by ignoring the principles of our founding. Our founders were very clear that a country could not exercise freedom and self-government without citizens that are instilled with a virtuous and moral framework.
These concepts were put forth by James Madison, who clearly stated the following:
“If there is no virtue among us, we are in a wretched situation. No theoretical checks, no form of government, can render us secure. To suppose that any form of government will secure liberty or happiness without any virtue in the people, is a chimerical idea. If there be sufficient virtue and intelligence in the community, it will be exercised in the selection of these men; so that we do not depend upon their virtue, or put confidence in our rulers, but in the people who are to choose them.”
However, the people – the “citizens” – who choose our leaders are quickly being overwhelmed by mere “residents,” namely the 12-22 million who are in this country illegally. They have blurred the line between the definition of a citizen and that of a mere resident. The concept of multiculturalism has evolved into a reality in our country, thanks to the enormous influx of both legal and illegal residents, who have no allegiance to this country, nor any appreciation or real investment in our history, particularly the Judeo-Christian heritage, which forms the basis of our system of laws.
President Trump has been the great “disrupter” of this declining system and the political class along with their lawyers, lobbyists and hangers-on do not like it. They do not want someone disrupting their gravy train, and have done anything in their power to get rid of him, attacking our fundamental freedoms including the critical “freedom of speech.” In the words of George Washington, “The freedom of speech may be taken away, and dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the Slaughter.”
A few years ago, President Trump’s election has forced us to face a moment of decision about our future. Maryland Republicans, although outnumbered, must take up the battle to save our country.
Recall the prayer President Roosevelt on the evening of D-day June 6th, 1944. “Almighty God; Our sons, pride of our Nation, this day have set upon a mighty endeavor a struggle to preserve our Republic, our religion, and our civilization., ……..They will need Thy blessings. Their road will be long and hard. For the enemy is strong…………Success may not come with rushing speed, but we shall return again and again; and we know that by Thy grace, and by the righteousness of our cause, our sons will triumph.”
