Hello, This is infuriating to see that only low and moderate income earners are considered for any "good" done for citizen residents. And who's monitoring these programs for fraud? Also, WHY are we funding the repair of the FSK Bridge when a huge container ship, owned by foreigner, slammed into the bridge? Shouldn't THEY be paying for this damage and repair?!

Our Crisis
The American public is largely sleepwalking toward a cliff, oblivious to the fact that there is no bottom to the depths of evil communism will plunge humanity into if America falls.
Issues that resonate
Had a great time at the meeting on Tuesday. It's pretty funny how so many refugees/veterans of former/current Communist countries turn up at these events. It reminds me how, during USSR days, some Republicans would try to convince people that yes, Communism really is that bad, and few would believe them.

I don't know if a Republican can pull off an upset, but I definitely think there are issues that could resonate within the district and broader Latino community:
Zoning: Fair is fair. You want to do experiments that entail tearing up single-family residential neighborhoods? Without attending to environmental impact? Fine, there are lots of neighborhoods in Bethesda where that could be beta-tested. Add a bus line, and the transport issue goes away. How about beta-testing where some of the developers who donate heavily to Democrats live?
Immigration: All for it. Not in favor of illegal line-jumpers though. How are we supposed to instill "wait your turn" in our own children if it is not honored in this regard? Absolutely nothing against Latinos; there are line-jumpers (illegal entries and visa overstays) in all nationalities. Also, and I don't know how this would resonate, people need to understand that "8.3 billion" is a very astronomical number, and not everyone who wants to come here, can. Americans need to decide how many, and what attributes, of immigrants we want, codify that through our elected representatives — and enforce that at the federal level. (See Arizona v US -- that was Trump 45's predecessor, not Trump, who reaffirmed the principle.) To me personally, a top criterion is that we prioritize people who wish to become citizens. Part of that would be ensuring that immigrants understand and accept the Supremacy Clause (Article VI, Paragraph 2 of the Constitution) that makes it clear that US law overrides every other legal system, whether stemming from another nation or any other religion.
Ideologically charged language: Personal opinion: "Latinx" turned Miami/Dade county red, it was so ridiculous and so out of kilter with how actual Latinos describe themselves. How about we let the Latinos and Asians of the district use their own vocabulary? Such as "man" for "transgender woman" and "removal of healthy breast" instead of "top surgery." And so on. I'm sure Louella has a better bead on which words resonate in which way, at least within the Asian-American part of the district.
Public Safety: You don't even have to back-the-blue to recognize that a disproportionate number of the VICTIMS of violent crime are Latino. I get that poor people and, naturally, illegals are highly suspicious of cops, but the left wants to throw the baby out with the bathwater. There's got to be a way to reach people who are at high risk of losing their sons to a gang murder.
Other than that, I'll note that I attended the PRA Zooms that Will Jawondo and Andrew Friedson gave for Parkwood residents. There's a lot of interest in our neighborhood in the $$ spent on MCPS. Not sure how that translates into a council race. Maybe read off a list of some super-crazy job titles (Associate Deputy Superintendent of Self-Esteem, not a real one, but I'm sure there are some doozies) and point out that you favor spending money on priorities, transparently, and effectively, given that it's 1/2 the county budget....I support MCPS, but I want to know how that money is being spent.
In principle, I think that Republican principles about lessening regulation in order to stimulate small business growth and housing construction sound good. The devil is in the details. Which regulations, how to achieve goals without unwanted side effects, and so on. Also, did you know that debt service is the #3 line item after public safety? Can we get a County Council to help get us out of the debt mess so we can spend that on something better?

I grew up in MoCo. Was, a mini United Nations. Everyone worked. Most, got along. We had bits of troubles during the 1960's.
I viewed all of that as ...growing pains.
MoCo today, few actually work, let alone 40 hr weeks.
So, Something(S) "Changed". I'm not sure when, nor how, because IF The Majority had actually agreed, I missed it even happening.
1) When immigrants arrived, they were thoroughly vetted. Medical. Criminal. If were financially self sufficient.
WHEN, was every human who appeared, at ANY Border, waved in, then handed Free Housing, Free Utilities, Free Medical Care, Free Education, Free Food, Free Cell Phones, Laptops, TV, and Service Providers...and, MORE .......
WHEN, was it decided, that paperwork would be rushed through, rubberstamped, suddenly, !ALL! are somehow "Legal" ???
WHO, is doing this ? ... -Socialists- employed by MoCo / USCIS / State ... aka those on some sort of Robinhood / SaviorComplex Mission ???
