____________

Realtors Against Republicans?

Excellent piece.  I’m so disappointed in GCAAR!

____________

You should put that information on a billboard calling out GCAAR.

____________

Nice response to the real GCAAR smear campaign, Dennis!  So sad they have stooped so low making absurd accusations.

Appreciate update

Enjoying the MCGOP newsletter. You folks are doing a great job with it.

_____________

Dear Mr. Melby:  thank you for another great article on a sensitive subject.

_____________

This feels like the institution is overstepping. Trade groups should represent all their members on housing issues, not push cultural agendas or demand candidates ditch their party. To those of us here, it seems like leadership is pulling a non-partisan group way to the left.

Dennis, there are Montgomery County Republicans and there are Maga Republicans.

Thanks for the good work you've done!

In response to this week’s letter discussing the position of the Realitors Association … In the words of The famous Michael Jordan “Republicans also buy shoes“ and in this case houses!

I suspect this is a result of younger people being elevated to positions of leadership in the organization reflecting a predictable position based on what they are programmed for in our universities!

At my age (84) at this time, and having a family that helped create this country. I do not have time to contend with stupidity.

Our votes, my wife and I, always were placed for the best person for the job. It has been very interesting that after voting in Montgomery county, Maryland, our votes over 95 % of our lives have been conservative even when I serviced for 6 years as an officer of the U. S. Navy.

My wife passed this year, and even before her death our conversations politically were to vote conservative. Now with the coming election, I can find no reason to vote for any democrat. In fact, I have been considering leaving Maryland because of how bad it is living here in retirement. It is extremely difficult because all of my family are in Maryland.

Would like to see more consistent mention about the border.  Most people were against that and believing it will happen again unless we elect Republicans is a powerful plus for Republicans.

_____________

A couple of things:

First on "Realtors Against Republicans".   Perhaps you are disappointed with their stance.   My reaction is "how many votes would an endorsement from the GCAAR garner for Republican candidates?".   My guess is 0 as in none.  Even if it would get Republicans a million votes, you can't do it at the expense of your core principles and common sense.   The Republican party of Montgomery would lose all credibility.

As to the DSA winning primaries, I predict it will be the end of the Democrat party because they have no principles.   They have no policies that are attractive to the electorate.    And "I hate Trump" is not a policy.  It's an admission they have no policy.

It's tough to be a Republican in Montgomery county, but the Democrats are just plumb crazy.

_____________

I’ve blasted GCAAR multiple times about their extremest woke liberal agenda.  They never endorse a Republican and I guess now are slandering them.  They should be a neutral party representing all Realtors and people  in the area and I have told them so. The DMV is an area with people from both sides of the isle working hard to make our government run successfully.  Telling members to disavow the Republican Party is illegal and they should lose all state funding and be penalized.  GCAArR teaches all these fair housing classes reminding us that political affiliation is a protected class in DC and turn around and break the laws.

____________

I enjoyed your email message today.

In my work career, I have always been totally apolitical.  As a client, you would be hard pressed to glean ANYTHING about my politics.  I also respect my clients’ privacy.  I have found it a good practice just not to talk politics.

Over my 26 years in the business, and in the process of obtaining broker licenses in 4 states, I have had 100+ hours of Fair Housing training, both in person and online.  During my career, I have suffered many arrogant fools who view a captive CE-class audience as the golden opportunity to pontificate.  Until recently, I had to endure “disparate impact” propaganda in total silence,  In addition, the number of protected classes has grown exponentially.  I also handle rentals.  Thus I am doubly aware of the potential landmines I could step on.  So I say nothing, do nothing, that could get me reported.

Isn’t it ironic that an industry and an association that both pride themselves on “treating everyone equal” so cavalierly threaten the legal first-amendment rights of their dues-paying members?  These repressors are smug, arrogant, semi-educated halfwits.  They literally have no clue what they are doing.

I do not hate anybody.  The only color that matters to me is green.  I try my best to get people into homes.  Period.
