Dennis Melby was elected MCGOP Chairman in July of 2020.
“I’ve had so many great opportunities for government and politics.” said Melby, “When you’re in this area politics IS the local business.” Among assignments he worked at the White House, at a think tank called the American Enterprise Institute where he worked for former President Gerald Ford among other notables, at the Congressional Budget Office for the Director, and finally Long & Foster Real Estate. He was elected 4 times to the Village Council in Friendship Heights, Maryland and he also served as local REALTOR® President. His community service has included Chair of the Police Advisory Council in Bethesda-Chevy Chase and Board member at the former Chestnut Lodge Psychiatric Hospital in Rockville.
A retired REALTOR® he’s also served as 1st Vice Chair, Chair of the Finance Committee and coordinator of the MCGOP Newsletter.
