CAN YOU FEEL A CHANGE IN THE AIR?
A sense of optimism. A sense of purpose. A sense of working together for victory.
We have great candidates this year with a lot of momentum, who are working hard to end one-party rule in MoCo and Maryland. We need diversity of thought and we bring that. Even the press and public are taking them seriously, they’re invited to candidate events and debates, listened to and noticed – it’s hard for a media still mostly controlled by the left to acknowledge – but they do.
I get the feeling we’re doing a lot better. I get the feeling things are changing – do you?
After all the political violence recently, most of the country still is behind trying to return to normal. Sure, there are absolute radicals out there trying to dismantle any progress and constantly sowing discontent but most folks still support more conservative principles. But No Kings and May Day protests, no matter how big and well funded by the Chinese Communist Party and the SPLC, don't represent the common will - only the ballot box does that.
With the economy continuing to improve, incomes rising, taxes falling and our military strength helping to improve the world we’re going to see some real progress real soon.
What I see here in Montgomery County is folks stepping up, so many new faces at all our meetings, our Party keeps growing, ten thousand more this year alone. Our club meetings are packed, our events often sell out. Meetings in Gaithersburg at the Muster, meetings in Wheaton at the Urban Winery, our Coffees with the Chairman and Women’s Clubs and District Clubs are all growing. Our events this year alone have hosted hundreds.
It’s nice to see progress like that. Lets keep it going, keep engaging with your neighbors, keep attending our events, volunteering, speaking up and helping our candidates increase support. 2026 will be a great year for Maryland, the United States and for the Republican Party.
Let’s keep it going. I can feel our progress, can you?
What do we need to do to keep the momentum going, and do you feel a positive change? Write to me at [email protected]
Stay safe, God bless America and God bless us all.
Dennis Melby
2026 Republican Chairman

The King's New Tax

King Marc of Elrich
By Lori Jaffe (with apologies to Hans Christian Andersen)
here once was a King Marc of Elrich, whose only concern was to raise taxes to support his ideas. No matter how bad the economic conditions in the kingdom were or how much the townsfolk complained, his only concern was getting more money from them. He reigned for too many years, raising taxes every chance he had.
Sully Says: Government does not create jobs … Businesses do.

I’ve owned an architectural engineering design firm in Rockville for over 30 years. I’ve owned my firm through five presidents, five wars, 9/11 and the explosion of AI. One thing that I can tell you is:
Government does not create jobs … Businesses do.
We all know that Montgomery County has had poor job growth. Businesses and jobs are leaving the County due to the laws and regulations here.

With so much political violence in the past year, it's been hard to keep a positive attitude for so many Americans about the direction of civil discourse. After the assassination of Charlie Kirk, his portrait was donated to the MCGOP. I decided to have it installed in a place of prominence, at the top of the stairs as all our citizens enter headquarters to engage in politics and social occasions.
Yesterday at Coffee with the Chairman, I snapped a photo and it was a remarkable reminder that there's always hope in the darkest of times.

Can Maryland's Economic Exodus Be Stopped?
By Ed Hale for Governor
The fact of the matter is, Wes Moore is failing Maryland while running for president on our dime, and if Republicans nominate the wrong candidate, we're going to hand him four more years to finish the job.
If Wes Moore were to win re-election, as unthinkable as that is, Maryland would experience an exodus the likes of which the "Land of Pleasant Living" has never witnessed.
Look at your utility bill. Really look at it. Maryland has systematically shut down or phased out reliable power plants without replacing them with anything dependable. The result? We're buying power off the open market at peak prices and passing the bill directly to every single Marylander. Utility costs are now 12% above the national average and climbing. Meanwhile, Calvert Cliffs, the only nuclear plant in the state, one of the most reliable sources of clean energy in the nation, sits at two reactors when it should have three. The proposal to expand it was shelved a decade ago and Moore hasn't pressed hard enough to make it a reality. Instead, he's doubled down on wind and solar, which together provide roughly 6% of the state's electricity. Six percent. That’s doubling down on failed policy.

HB 444/SB 245 — Immigration Enforcement Agreements - Prohibition
This bill prohibits state and local law enforcement agencies, including county sheriffs, from entering into or maintaining "287(g)" agreements with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
SB 791/HB 1575 — Correctional Services and Public Safety — Immigration Enforcement — Prohibitions (Community Trust Act)
The Community Trust Act prohibits Maryland law enforcement and correctional facilities from honoring ICE detainer requests or notifying federal authorities of an individual's release without a valid judicial warrant. This bill, making Maryland a true “Sanctuary State,” is probably in violation of the Supremacy Clause’s bar on state interference with lawful federal authority.
