THIS MUST NOT STAND
Are you as outraged as I am? After watching the response on American campuses and in towns and cities throughout the United States since October 7th, I am both amazed and ashamed.
Jewish neighbors and friends, kids, and adults, have been harassed and intimidated. Left wing Ivy League campuses have been turned into fortresses that are unwelcoming, and intimidating to Jewish citizens. What have they been taught? They scream "Death to America" at supposedly important American Universities. They take down the US Flag, and replace it with foreign flags. People are afraid for their personal safety and freedom and have even been attacked and vilified for their religion and heritage. Didn’t you think this was gone from America – if not the world?
And it seems the farther left and the most permissive schools have been the most intolerant and hateful – both against Jewish identity and traditional American values.
Our Party, the Republican Party has always stood for freedom, even while Democrat lawmakers stood in the doorway to make sure that not all students would be welcome. Years ago Republican President Dwight Eisenhower made sure the National Guard protected the kids who would integrate the school in Little Rock, Arkansas – and not let the intimidation, bullying and harassment stop those kids from learning. Are you as ashamed of this Administration’s lack of action as I am?

THE HUESSY REPORT - MAY 6
By Peter Huessy
Quote of the Week
“Single acts of tyranny may be ascribed to the accidental opinion of a day; but a series of oppressions, begun at a distinguished period, and pursued unalterably through every change of ministers, too plainly prove a deliberate and systematical plan of reducing us to slavery.” Thomas Jefferson (1774)

INSPECTOR GENERAL NEEDED FOR SCHOOLS
By Lori Jaffe
The Montgomery County Taxpayers League (MCTL) has asked the County Council to work with state legislators to establish a dedicated Office of the Inspector General reporting to the Montgomery County School Board. The MCTL has been working tirelessly for nearly 50 years to work, in a non-partisan way, with county officials on the budget and operations. As taxpayers, we need to follow the lead of the MCTL and contact our County Council to encourage them to establish an OIG.

MAY REPUBLICAN ORIENTATION GOING STRONG

"We've never seen numbers this big!" said long-time presenter Dan Cuda from our MCGOP Legislative District 15. MCGOP leadership has doubled down on its commitment to the monthly orientation with a new, easy-to-use RSVP button on the MCGOP website for new volunteers. "We know actively getting involved is a big step for many," says Dan. "People want to know what they're getting into and get an introduction to the basics of the political process."
The orientation introduces them to local politics in Montgomery County and Maryland, the confusing set of political districts and offices, and finally the organization of the county, state, and national Republican Party. Finally, they learn the basic tools available to help them identify Republicans in their neighborhood and community.
Orientation is usually the first Saturday of each month. Volunteer HERE. Read more here
