PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME!
By Dennis Brent Melby
Yep, it’s hard dealing with quality of life in Montgomery County. It’s expensive affording the quality of life in Maryland. Folks are loading up the moving vans and getting out of Dodge while the getting’s good.

I understand, I feel your pain. With 20 years of one party government there’s no conflicting solutions put on the table. It’s MY WAY OR THE HIGHWAY – many folks are choosing the highway.
The local Democrats, who hold all the cards, and control all the offices, have the worst woke policies;
- Crime is getting worse while they take cops out of schools.
- Cost of living is higher, yet they raise taxes, and raise taxes, and raise taxes some more.
- When they get pushback on taxes, they promise to only raises taxes on wealthy residents – you know, the ones who can actually afford the moving vans!
- There are less kids, the birthrate’s lower, folks are moving, so the Teacher’s Union wants higher salaries to teach fewer kids.
- Reading, writing, math and STEM are replaced with Critical Race Theory, restorative justice, gender identity and kids can’t read, count or socialize…so the County wants to spend more!
- Kids aren’t safe in school yet the politicians and Teacher’s Unions push for boys in girls bathrooms and boys in girls sports. (Just don’t tell your parents.)
- Keep your house cold in the winter, hot in the summer, dark at night and the cost of energy in MoCo is the highest in the nation. (Oh, and they even tax your high priced electric.)
- You can’t afford the roofer you need 'cause prices are up, but you really need him 'cause (wait for it) the cost of living has gone through the roof!
I could go on and on but you get the picture, Bring back bipartisanship, elect some Republicans to guard the Democrat henhouse. If all the normal hard working, non woke folk take the midnight train to Georgia (or the High Speed U-Haul to Florida) it’ll only be Democrats left to PAY THEIR FAIR SHARE! (By the way, don’t you already pay your fair share?)
Let’s end one party rule, increase quality of life, and return Montgomery County to being a great, safe, affordable place to call home.

So How Can We Complain?
SO HOW CAN WE COMPLAIN?
Only about 10% of the Republican Judges we need have signed up. I can't complain they don't have Republican representatives when Republicans don't volunteer to serve. I need you, the Party needs you, the free and fair election process needs you. We need you now. Become a Republican paid volunteer here.

What Is Diversity?
As election season unfolds, I’ve had the opportunity to attend many candidate forums across Montgomery County. Again and again, candidates speak proudly about diversity in our community and on the County Council. We are told that diversity is our strength.
But there is one form of diversity that is too often ignored in Montgomery County government: diversity of thought.
Today, there is not a single Republican serving on the Montgomery County Council and there hasn’t been in almost 20 years.
In fact, there is currently not one elected Republican in county government at all.

Change is in the Air
The Socialist Democrats running Montgomery County are not only wasting our tax dollars on the unnecessary Traffic and Speed Cameras, but they are stealing our money!
How much money do they make from this?
The Socialist Democrats should instead concentrate on bringing industry and jobs here.
We all want public safety and safe roads, but it is ridiculous to see Gray traffic boxes everywhere.
Our tax dollars can be spent more effectively elsewhere.
What can we do?

We have a great group of Republican candidates for local office on the ballot and ready to serve. They’re eminently qualified, great leaders and smarter than me! And not one of them is taking government money…your tax dollars, to run their campaigns. I’m very proud of them and they’ll each make wonderful elected leaders.
For years the Republican Party has welcomed all who wanted to help build a better America, regardless of creed, color or origin. Look here at some of our candidates – I’m proud of all of them.

L to R, Sherwin Wells, Rick Mui, Josephine Salazar, Esther Wells, Reardon "Sully" Sullivan, Louella Tham, Dolores Reyes, Harold Maldonado are some of the Republican candidates.
But I think the far left is scared, and they’re doing what the left does to affect the election. Using fear, intimidation and non-engagement. It’s not about the best ideas, it’s about the biggest lie – and much of the press is happy to carry their water. Yep, they’re rarely invited to participate in candidate events. They’re rarely given press coverage. Some of the other party’s operatives are stealing and destroying their signs and campaign materials, mostly at night but some even in plain sight. And now some are even accused of racism! Can you imagine, the representatives of the Republican Party founded to end racism and slavery are painted with that brush by Democrat candidates and some in the media?
Let’s get back to basics, reject the garbage allegations from folks afraid of losing what they consider a seat they’re owed, and have genuine debate on the issues and explain to all the voters why continued single party government is good for MoCo and Maryland. It’s not. And we’ll end it.
