REPUBLICAN BREAKFAST CLUB

Our last MCGOP Republican Breakfast Club of 2024 was packed, with a special breakfast from Attman's. We talked about the successes and near successes of the 2024 election and how we'll build on that for 2026 in the local elections. The food and conversation were priceless. Thank you Attman's of Park Potomac.

5 Sources of Good News Right Now

It’s been a long successful campaign for the Frederick Board of Education as we fought to fill 3 open seats. I am thrilled to announce that Jaime Brennan finished on top with 16.78% of the votes and Colt Black third with 16.17%. We now have 3 Conservatives on the board. Although we still don’t hold the majority our voices will be heard as they join Nancy Allen in our quest to improve the education provided to our children and to bring sanity back to our schools. Please help me congratulate them both!

The Huessy Report Election '24

Weekly report to friends of Montgomery County by Peter Huessy November 18, 2024

The report this week highlights my essay on what has happened so far re the race for the White House and Congress, as well as the most serious national security implications of the election and the cabinet choices by the new President.

A very interesting open apology from Naomi Wolf—I urge everyone to read it.

The next essay is about the end of the nut-job era—i.e., the crazy woke policies of the Democrat party.

An assessment of how Congress, with a 16% approval rating, can be reformed.

A list of the ten key reasons why Trump won the Presidency.

And finally, from Michael Ramirez on the election results.

Congress and The Trump Trifecta

The political outlook is now clear; the Republican party won the Trifecta, electing Trump as President with 312 electoral votes, winning the Senate 53-45-2, and the House at a projected 222-113.

MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN

I met Lara Trump in Rockville about a week ago. Former Chair Sully Sullivan and Vice Chair Stacey Sauter were also there, and she told us that her father-in-law would be reelected, he’d get over 300 votes in the electoral college, win the popular vote, and we’d know the results that night. She was 100% right

Yet in Montgomery County we’re on one of the blue islands in America. Hispanics, minorities, young people – are all registering and voting Republican across America. Yet here in MoCo most still cling to the extremes of the far Left. Raise taxes, defund & disrespect police, call your neighbors Nazis and bigots, allow boys in girls bathrooms, sponsor drag show performers to read to kids at public libraries, protect violent illegal immigrant criminals with sanctuary county policies as they prey on their own communities, the list goes on and on.

We were mobbed by supporters Saturday at MCGOP headquarters by folks who just wanted to be with normal people - to not feel the hatred trained on them by the far Left. They’re always amazed when they find there are 100,000 of us, and growing!

VETERANS DAY

"Our veterans represent the best of America, and they deserve the best America can provide them. To recognize and respect the contributions our service men and women have made in defense of America, and to advance the cause of peace, the Congress has provided, as outlined in 5 U.S.C. 6103(a), that November 11th of each year shall be set aside as a legal public holiday to recognize America’s veterans. These heroes served faithfully, humbly, and valiantly in times of war and peace, and they carried these admirable traits into the civilian workforce when their military service was fulfilled. Our precious liberty has survived and thrived because of generations of brave Americans — from every background and walk of life — who have answered the call to support and defend the United States. The gravity of their contribution is immeasurable and so is our debt to every single one of our Nation’s veterans."

THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY

By Lori Jaffe

The good news is that Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich has been limited to two terms! Many thanks to all who made that possible. The bad news is that he has two more years to go. The ugly news is that our county officials continue to create new regulations for us to live under. We encourage you to continue to engage with them (see below).

Montgomery Perspective reports that Elrich feels he was limited to eight years as County Executive in part because “Voters don’t even know we have term limits, so they made it sound like this was something new and a lot of people are agreeable to term limits.” Any voter just needed to read the ballot question (below), which says “decrease the term limit that applies to the County Executive from the current three consecutive terms to two consecutive terms.” It was very clearly stated.

THE MAGICIAN OF MOCO

Question A Passed by the voters about 2 to 1!

By Lori Jaffe

Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich has fooled many MoCo residents for 35 years. In 2026, he wants to run for an additional four-year term. It was this tenacity that helped him win a Democrat primary run off in 2022 by just 35 votes. Tomorrow is the last day to Vote FOR Question A to limit the County Executive position to Two Consecutive Terms. During this magician's time on the public stage, many things have vanished before our eyes. Some are listed below.

Police Officers – Marc Elrich sought to cut back funding for our police department. With many police officers leaving due to low morale and low pay, our county has seen an increase in crime. Even a once very safe place like Montgomery Mall has seen a rise in assaults.
