PROTECT US FROM VIOLENT CRIME
HELP THE MOCO POLICE DEPARTMENT
By Ann Guthrie Hingston
Marc Elrich’s Executive Order tied the hands of law enforcement. In 2019 County Executive Marc Elrich signed an executive order prohibiting local law enforcement from cooperating with federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Soon thereafter, we organized and hundreds showed up in protest led by Larry O’Connor and Vince Coglianese of WMAL, Sabastian Gorka, Michelle Malkin and families of MCPD officers killed by convicted felons illegally in the United States. MCPD officers faced away from us to protect us as County officials and those they hired lined up across the street.

Policies have consequences. WJLA reports that so far this year Montgomery County has failed to honor 119 detainers and it is only February. Recently, reporter Brad Bell accompanied ICE agents as they attempted to arrest a non-citizen, convicted felon who had been the subject of an ICE detainer for deportation but was released from a local jail after 18 months. MDGOP Update

Maryland is in a crime crisis.
While Governor Wes Moore is claiming in his State of the State Address that "crime is down across the state," the statistics paint a much dimmer picture. Take a look at just a few examples:

Bay Area mayors join move to walk back Prop 47 and crack down on thefts and drugs

Democrat San Francisco Mayor London Breed on Thursday joined other major-city leaders from her party supporting a California ballot initiative that would increase penalties for certain retail theft and drug crimes, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Proposition 47 was a ballot measure approved by California voters in a state-wide referendum in 2014 that reduced the penalties for property crime by reclassifying some felonies, such as shoplifting and grand theft, as misdemeanors. After a large increase in such crimes in recent years, a campaign to repeal Proposition 47 is underway, which Breed, as well as Democrat Mayors Matt Mahan of San Jose and Todd Gloria of San Diego, have endorsed, the Chronicle reported.
Even the Left Coast gets realistic. Do you think they could contact the all-Democrat Montgomery County government?
