I’m a very conservative Republican. I will vote for your candidates even if they aren’t all that conservative...the democrat side is just plain crazy.

The Melby Minute
Dennis MelbyChairmanRepublican Party of Montgomery County, MDSTUCK BEHIND "NO KINGS"
Saturday I participated in the Leisure World 60th Anniversary parade. It was a great affair, so many clubs and organizations' representatives were present. Yes, we had a great turnout and lots of compliments and encouragement from parade-goers and onlookers. We followed a group of motorcycle enthusiasts - who were particiularly thankful we showed up. After a while their bikes overheated and they had to drop out - and I noticed that made the group in front of us the alledgedly George Soros funded "No Kings" club. They're dedicated to making sure that all illegal immigrants can stay, welcome more and make sure nothing stands in the way of the far-left socialist movement. They're famous for their 86-47 signs, hatred of Republicans and hatred for the current President.
Needless to say, words were exchanged - and we put a little distance between our group and theirs.Funny? Ironic? The world playing a trick on both groups? You be the judge.America is the best place in the world to be.

Pleasantly Surprised

Well, you've surprised me.
I've always known a lot of non-affiliated, independent and Democrat voters read our newsletter. After every issue we get quite a few comments (agreeing, arguing - mostly just venting) but all glad they’re hearing a second point of view. Comments from many non-republicans have been trending.
Thanks for all the comments.
- You’re tired of high taxes.
- You’re tired of one-party government.
- You’re tired of promises never delivered upon.
What do I want you to do? I’d like you to make a different choice. I’d like you to get some diversity of thought, some new ideas and stop the party line voting time, after time, after time.
Look at our candidates – we have great ones.
A woman who's a CPA, hard working mother, a professional and community leader running for County Executive.
A man who's a successful businessman, great communicator, super educated in MoCo and the University of Maryland, community advocate running for County Council.
Superb, energetic candidates who are not infected with the Socialist virus
Many great candidates, hard workers and men and women dedicated to actually holding the line on the never ending tax increases and useless statutes after regulations that one party rule brings (seems like more every year.)
And let's be frank, they're more conservative, with traditional values. Heck, most are former Democrats, most are legal American citizens who started out as immigrants whose families came here because they loved and admired America and wanted to help build it even better. And they’ve been successful at it.
Look at our candidates. Yes, you can pick and choose. You don’t have to go one-party straight down the line. Politics is better with discussion, without single, party line votes on 95% of every issue. As a county native I remember when we had multi-party legislatures – with folks voting on issues according to what each felt was best for their constituents – not just for their political party.

Sully Says

First They Seek to Control the Media
History teaches a clear lesson about the power of Government and the dangers of one-party-rule.
First, political leaders seek influence over the media. They do not always begin by censoring articles or ordering reporters to remain silent. Control can start more subtly, through reducing funding, board appointments, regulatory pressure, and the power to reward favorable coverage or punish and defund criticism.
That is why Montgomery County residents should be alarmed by Councilmember Kate Stewart’s Bill 33-26.
