AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act of 2025

AM radio has a history dating back to the early 1900’s and while I wasn’t around when Orson Welles broadcast the 1938 drama, War of the Worlds, AM radio played a major role with broadcasting news programs and music for many more decades. I recently heard about a bi-partisan Bill introduced in the Senate (you heard that correctly!) requiring AM radio capabilities to be standard in all new passenger vehicles. If the vehicle does not have AM radio as a standard option, the manufacturer must inform purchasers of this fact through clear and conspicuous labeling and may not charge any additional fee for AM radio access.

PHP WORKSESSIONS - OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
The Planning, Housing, and Parks (PHP) Committee of Montgomery County Council will hold work sessions to discuss Zoning Text Amendment (ZTA) 25-02, titled “Workforce Housing – Development Standards”. This proposed amendment is part of the broader “More Housing N.O.W. (New Options for Workers)” package aimed at expanding affordable housing options within the county. TAKE ACTION
More Housing N.O.W. Update
By Amy Waychoff
Further consideration of the proposals have been postponed until June because of deliberations on the budget. This pause provides an excellent opportunity to email the County Council with your objections to the zoning package. With six of eleven members sponsoring or co-sponsoring the proposals, we only need to convince one of these councilmembers to change their position.
For ideas of what to put in your email, HERE is my shortened version of the testimony I presented to the County Council on March 11, 2025.
THANKS FOR JOINING US
It's Republican weather, a great springtime, warm days, fresh air, flowers blooming and a great sense of optimism in the air! I welcome all the folks signing up for our events, our newsletters and petitions. We were able to cross the threshold and become the majority party in America once again after a long bit. Here in MoCo it'll take a bit more, but I'm optimistic we can do it.
It's so gratifying to watch the different groups approach our Members, volunteers, door knockers and poll watchers. The first thing is the smile and the realization there are plenty of folks in MoCo who are on their side. The surprising thing is where they come from. So many citizens who are immigrants to America, from Africa, Asia and the Hispanic countries. Folks who came here the right way, were welcomed to our shores and have watched with dismay while so many others didn't - often to prey on their own immigrant communities.
They have come to realize our Party, nationally and locally, has their back. We represent them and are becoming stronger and more effective each day. Yes, it's good to see and we'll keep it up until we build the country back to be the beacon of freedom and prosperity the world longs to see.
You have my word on that.
