SMEARS AREN'T GOING TO SILENCE PARENTS

Watch the video of parents and religious leaders pleading to stop the hatred and let the kids be kids, follow the Maryland Public School policy of opting out, and ask the public officials to listen to them and treat them with some respect.

Members of the Democrat leadership in Montgomery County have called opt-out supporters "white supremacists" and spreaders of hate.

Support these religious leaders, parents and community leaders at the next public demonstration on July 20.

Will more Asian and Hispanic parents in MoCo join these protests?
Will more Black and Jewish parents show up?
Will ALL PARENTS join in??

One doesn't need a religious foundation to protest against public schools sexually indoctrinating children.  All parents should be demanding to be able to OPT OUT their kids of material they deem offensive.

Committee for Better Government

The “Committee for Better Government” was formed to limit the number of consecutive four-year terms that the Montgomery County Executive may hold. Currently, the County Executive can have three consecutive terms before he/she is term limited. The purpose of this ballot petition is to secure enough signatures to get the question on the ballot for the 2024 election.

We want to ensure no Montgomery County Executive serves more terms than the US President or the Maryland Governor. If it's good enough for Reagan, Obama, and Hogan, isn’t it good enough for our County? The two four-year term limit is consistent throughout most of the counties in Maryland.

GOOD RIDDANCE TO AFFIRMATIVE ACTION

By Ken Dalecki

As the grandfather to two adopted grandchildren from China, I am delighted that the Supreme Court has finally nixed racial profiling in college admissions.  My granddaughter is a math whiz and can qualify at any elite school based on her grades.  But she has been afraid to include a photo with college applications because she is Asian!  Hopefully that has changed, although I fear woke schools will do as much as they can get away with to perpetuate affirmative action.

My opposition to affirmative action started long before having Asian grandchildren.  In 1979, I was a National Endowment for the Humanities Journalism Fellow at the University of Michigan. One of our seminar topics was the 1978 Bakke decision in which the Supreme Court's oxymoronic ruling declared that affirmative action was constitutional but racial quotas were not.  I was the only one of a dozen journalism fellows to argue Bakke's position against quotas.  (One fellow said he agreed with my arguments but was too liberal to endorse my stand.)  At the end of the discussion, our professor weighed in in opposition to quotas.  "You know why he opposes quotas," one fellow asked me?  "He's Jewish, and Jews were once excluded to many schools."  I guess that made his position illegitimate in the eyes of my liberal colleague.

Family Rally in Rockville

ONE THOUSAND PEOPLE GATHER AT THE BOARD OF EDUCATION

Ignored by the seven Democrat women who run the Montgomery County Board of Education, a huge crowd of parents, guardians and children gathered at the MCPS headquarters in Rockville last Tuesday to demonstrate their opposition to removing their rights to "opt out" of classes and instruction on sexuality and gender transitioning taught in the public schools to pre-K to 5th graders. They demanded that their religious rights should be respected. They demanded the right to instruct their kids by themselves on family values, sexuality and love.

Happy 4th 2023

One Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all”

There’s more on our minds this Fourth of July than fireworks and cookouts. While areas around our great County may light up the night skies in remembrance of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, we must also acknowledge that we are living in complicated times that require deeply thought-out solutions.

Whereas we may have come from diverse backgrounds, via different pathways, purporting different occupations, and speak different languages, we must be united by belief in a simple truth: that we are all created equal, that we are all endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights, and that among these rights are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

The '23 Soiree Is A Wrap

By Lori Jaffe

Over 100 people enjoyed the “Defending Freedom” themed MCGOP 2023 Summer Soiree held at Martha and Gene Schaerr’s home in Derwood. Vice Chair Dennis Melby as MC kept the audience in stitches, the food from Mission BBQ was awesome, and the straw poll conducted by Laura Benson was enlightening.

Dennis Melby and Laura Benson conduct the Soiree straw poll

Gene Schaerr, Esq, who clerked for US Supreme Court Justices Warren E. Burger and Antonin Scalia and for Federal Judge and US Solicitor General Ken Starr, described how he has been working with both sides of the aisle on legislation to stop partisan abuses by the FBI and the intelligence community. His successes provide valuable lessons to all of us on how people on opposite sides can work together to achieve a common goal.

Nancy Schulze, Founder of the Congressional Wives Speakers and co-founder of the American Prayer Initiative, gave an impassioned speech on the importance of providing encouragement to our local community members. She described how simply having a meal with a soldier during a USO tour changed his mind and thus prevented his suicide. What a memory.
