Remembering Martin Luther King Jr.

Thanks Sully. It saddens me greatly that he isn’t here to guide those poor mislead souls in Minnesota. Clearly, protests even as mislead as this would be peaceful and certainly not enter a house of worship, in anger and mistrust, claiming that they are Christians.

We, even in Montgomery county, need Martin’s blessings.

A Tale of Two Worthless Bills

JOHN MYRICK FOR GOVERNOR         BRENDA J. THIAM FOR LT. GOVERNOR

Post Office Box 25, Bowie, MD 20719-0025

Politicians talk about problems; We solve problems.

January 22nd, 2026

The Montgomery County Council’s efforts to virtue signal through legislation does a huge disservice to the citizens of Montgomery County.  Two bills have been recently introduced that will do nothing but waste the Council’s valuable time and potentially cost the county millions of Dollars in Federal aid.

The first of these ridiculous bills is named The County Values Act, Bill 3-26, led by Councilmember Kristen Mink (District 5).  This bill aims to prohibit ICE Agents from entering Montgomery County buildings without a judicial warrant, and further attempts to restrict their access to everything from buildings to garages to public spaces.  The introduction of such a worthless piece of legislation shows that Councilmember Mink has absolutely no understanding of immigration or federal law.  U.S. immigration law does not require ICE Agents to have a judicial warrant to apprehend Unlawful Aliens.  Immigration law is considered an Administrative Proceeding and is very different from criminal law.  Administrative Warrants (Form I-200/I-205), issued and signed by immigration officials within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), authorize an officer to arrest an individual for immigration violations.  Judicial Warrants, traditionally, have only been required to enter a private residence to apprehend.  But even this interpretation has recently been changed and will most likely require the Federal Courts to render a decision.  Furthermore, no lesser jurisdiction (such as a State or County) can impede ICE agents from executing these Administrative Warrants, and any effort to do so could be viewed as Obstruction of an Official Proceeding (18 U.S.C. § 1505) – a Felony.  Lastly, the county has no legal authority to prohibit ICE Agents from access to parking garages, county buildings, or other public spaces.  This is just plain silly and has no basis in law.

REDISTRICTING IN MARYLAND

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

House Republicans Issue Statement on Vote of Governor’s Redistricting Commission

(Annapolis, MD) – House Republicans today issued a statement on the vote of the Governor’s Redistricting Commission to move forward with a gerrymandered map.

“The Redistricting Commission’s vote today confirmed what we have been saying all along: that this Commission had nothing to do with fairness, nothing to do with the wants and needs of our citizens, and, quite frankly, nothing to do with Maryland,” said House Minority Leader Jason Buckel. “Instead, this Commission has everything to do with D.C. partisan politics and the desires of the Democratic National Committee. This Commission was merely a drawn-out political sham with a pre-determined outcome: to rid Maryland of any Republican representation in Congress and disenfranchise voters in Western Maryland and the Eastern Shore. Nothing drives this home more than their absurd end product.”

“Maryland has a long and storied history of being one of the worst gerrymandered states in America, and the Commission’s actions today further solidifies that legacy,” said House Minority Whip Jesse Pippy. “It is a shame that, with all the challenges facing Maryland – budget deficits, children dying in state custody, Marylanders unable to afford their electric bills, that this has been the Governor’s priority. It is outrageous.”

Take the Maryland Republican Party Poll

This week, President Donald J. Trump officially reached one year back in office - and what a year it’s been.

After the dark days of the Biden Administration – open borders, runaway inflation, and foreign energy dependence - President Trump took immediate action to pull America back on track.

In just 12 months, he has:
  • Secured the southern border
  • Slashed inflation
  • Restored American energy dominance
  • Put working families first
  • Reasserted America’s strength on the world stage

Promises Made. Promises Kept.

With President Trump back in the White House and Republicans fighting to restore America First leadership, the first year of the Trump Administration has brought real change:  a secure border, unleashed American energy, reinstated law and order, and renewed American strength abroad.

But the Maryland media and Democrat machine claim the opposite.

We are going directly to real Maryland voters to set the record straight.

Please take a moment to complete the MDGOP Year One Poll and tell us how President Trump’s first year has impacted you.

With your support, we can make sure President Trump’s accomplishments continue through the rest of his term. Please consider chipping in $25, $50, or even $100 today.

Thank you,
Nicole Beus Harris
Chairwoman
Maryland Republican Party

REMEMBERING MARTIN LUTHER KING JR.

johnmattone.com

As a proud American let me wish you a happy Martin Luther King Day. We remember a great leader who pushed America to realize the values and principles started by the Republican party over 150 years ago. Our Party was founded not only to end slavery, but to end discrimination and continue to move us to where we are today, a great country where folks are valued for the content of their character.

As a child of Montgomery County, I’m proud to have been given the opportunity to lead the Republican party. And I’m proud of you and the way you strive to make our community better every day.

Growing up here I’ve seen that every family, every community, and every neighborhood has its ups and downs – but they always try to make things better for the next generation.

So I join you in our pride of celebrating this great nation on Martin Luther King Day, and thanks for being a great neighbor and a great American.

I hate those ridiculous bike lanes. Traffic is way worse and I have never seen 1 bike in  them! Please remove them!

Expedited Bill 35-25

With all due respect, our taxes are so high right now thanks to Governor Moore and now we want to expand for immigrants who may be illegally or legally here more of the benefits that I pay for giving them more benefits that we as Montgomery County residence pay for is outrageous. Yes I’m a very compassionate and individual, but I also have to vote. My pocketbook is stretched right now as far as it’ll go in Montgomery County, I’m considering purchasing a place in Florida and living down there for 6 1/2 months and then coming back here so I don’t have to pay taxes. That’s what most Montgomery County residents do who are wealthy. I’m not extremely wealthy, but I’m comfortable but this is gone too far much too far.

The Melby Minute - The High Costs of Group Think

By Dennis Brent Melby

  • Nobody in America pays more for electricity than we do in Maryland.
  • Nobody in America pays more for water & sewer service than we do in Maryland.
  • Nobody, not even in far-left California...

…and if you drive 20 miles away, northwest into wet, wild and wonderful West Virginia it’s the cheapest rate in ALL 50 states! Go figure.

Taxes and regulations, that’s all. Bad decisions and left wing loopy ideals cause us to pay through the nose…and it doesn’t have to be like that. Our single party government goes out of its way to out-left the Left. Our “Progress” is the highest tax, the highest public government salaries and the most lackadaisical service in the region – because huge portions of our income are from government work – either straight on the government payroll or from a government contractor position.

It doesn’t have to be so. In an area that says it prides itself on diversity, we don't really mean it. Diversity of thought’s OK if it doesn’t mean the Democrats don’t have all levers of government.
