Saturday I saw Connie Morella at an event in Bethesda, and it reminded me how important it is to find common ground. Congresswoman Morella was a master at forging alliances with others on capitol hill to further efforts to keep the county strong and prosperous. And most of her time in Annapolis and DC she was in the minority – but her peers listened to her quite a bit.

We forget that folks agree with us more than we think, maybe it’s the Press, or the prism of "Social Media" that makes us forget how much we have in common. True, the political class (I guess I’m included in that) often makes enemies out of the other party, its members and elected officials. But we’re not all enemies.

If Mamdani and Trump can get along, can’t we?

Will Jawando for County Executive? Voters Deserve Better

There’s an old saying: “If his mouth is moving, he’s lying.” Few politicians in Montgomery County fit that description better than Will Jawando, the ever-ambitious Councilman now clawing his way toward the County Executive’s office.

Jawando has spent years trying to climb the political ladder. Washington didn’t want him, Annapolis didn’t need him, and now he’s set his sights on Montgomery County Executive. But one thing’s been constant: he’ll say whatever it takes to get elected. One week, he’s calling to defund the police. The next, he’s preaching “public safety.” One month, he’s chasing national headlines with performative progressive stunts. The next, he’s pretending to be the reasonable moderate.

It’s not leadership… it’s opportunism in a nice suit.

These are trying times for many of us, our friends and neighbors. Please bring donations of non-perishable food, and one or two unwrapped toys to our MCGOP Republican Headquarters (15833 Crabbs Branch Way in Rockville). We'll have two open houses, Saturdays November 15 and 22, from 10 AM to 1 PM. 

Donations will go to the MANNA food bank and Toys for Tots in late November. Volunteers will be at the office to accept your items. Thanks for your generosity.
