It's Just Me

Trump or MoCo?

By Dennis Brent Melby

The political partisans have it down pat. Always run against the top person. They make millions in the US and other democracies selling programs on how to run for office and win. Being elected brings power, control and notoriety – and folks all over the world want that.

You’ll see here in MoCo that all the incumbent Democrats are running against President Trump. From Governor to Congress to County Exec and Council as well as State government, they use Trump as the bad guy, and promise to oppose him at every opportunity. (Did it work in Virginia? You be the judge.) Yep, although Trump’s not on the ballot, Trump is on the ballot, put there by the Democrats.

But of course he's not really on the ballot. What we need is leadership in MoCo. Don’t be distracted. Tax and spend, choose far left over normal, make sure one-party rule with no divergence is almost mandatory – this is what the Socialist Democrats are promising you - more of the same. We have a better way.

How about some TRUE diversity? I’m proud to say we’ve got a great team running for MoCo leadership. The County Executive and County Council contests are chock-a-block full of super qualified leaders. We have fighters for prosperity, freedom and true democracy. Many are legal immigrants who became great American citizens, built lives and businesses and families and are ready to give back to this great county with public service. …and they’re NOT CAREER POLITICIANS! Others are business leaders, hard workers, some former government workers as many in MoCo are, ready to use their experience in this great spot next to DC. And some, like Reagan and Trump, are former Democrats. We welcome them all.

Sully Says: Council Serves Special Interests

The County Council decided to reconfigure Little Falls Parkway to serve special interests instead of listening to the planning board or the public.

Rather than rerouting the Capital Crescent Trail 200 feet to the controlled intersection with a stoplight at Arlington Road, the Council implemented a “road diet” that removed two lanes.
