Maryland Celebrates Emancipation Day

Maryland was never fully controlled by Republicans, but we were able to abolish slavery here after the Republican President, Abraham Lincoln, abolished it in most of the country with the Emancipation Proclamation - which didn't apply to Maryland. The vote was for a new Maryland Constitution that included abolishing slavery, and it hinged on the votes of our men fighting for the Union in the Civil War. Remember back then it was only white men voting. It passed after their votes cast on the battlefield were counted.

Take time Wednesday to remember Maryland Emancipation Day!

SUPPORT THE POLICE

DEMOCRATS PAINTED DEFUND THE POLICE ON THE STREET IN FRONT OF THE WHITE HOUSE. THE MONTGOMERY COUNTY EXECUTIVE REFUSED TO ALLOW THE POLICE SUPPORT FLAG, THE THIN BLUE LINE, TO BE DISPLAYED IN COUNTY POLICE LOBBIES. REMEMBER? THE COPS SURE DO.

FROM ZIGGY MARLEY - FREE GAZA

The people of GAZA are under the control of the terrorist organization HAMAS. Let's support Israel in freeing GAZA and its people in the grasp and murderous control of HAMAS.

FOOD DONATION TO MANNA

Thanks to everyone who donated to our food drive. We were able to make a donation to MANNA food pantry of Maryland, to help those families affected with food insecurity this season. Thanks to Committeewoman Stacey Sauter for transporting our donations to them.

THE ATTACK ON ISRAEL

-Statement by Republican Congressman Jim Jordan-

“The unprovoked terror attack today and the murders of innocent Israeli citizens are a stark reminder of the brutality of Hamas and Iran-backed extremists. The indiscriminate killings of men, women, and children are sickening.

“We must pray for Israel, its leadership, the men and women serving in its defense, and all Israelis today. It is heartening that Congress has come together in a bipartisan manner to strongly condemn the horrendous attacks on Israel and the Israeli citizens.

“We must continue to support our great ally as it expels this invasion, overwhelms these extremists, and works to prevent Hamas from ever harming Israeli citizens again.

THE SPEAKER VACANCY

On Oct 3rd, eight Republican Members joined with all voting Democrats to remove their House Speaker.

This was controversial for Republicans, welcomed by Democrats. Here are the thoughts of a former Republican Congressional nominee. We certainly hope a new and acceptable Speaker will be chosen soon, there's much work to be done.
