Help Lead the Party

The Republican Party through its elected board, the Montgomery County Republican Central Committee (MCGOP) is currently recruiting qualified applicants to fill  Committee vacancies for Legislative District (LD) 15 (Potomac), Legislative District 19 (Gaithersburg), 20 (Silver Spring) and At-Large (county-wide). Eligible individuals must be registered Republican voters who reside in the appropriate area. You may check to confirm your LD by Clicking Here.

If interested in applying, please submit your letter of interest and political/professional resume to the MCGOP’s Party Secretary Lori Jaffe ([email protected]) NO LATER than 5 PM July 7, 2025.  Interviews will be scheduled at a later date.

Following interviews, if nominated to fill this vacancy the full MCGOP Central Committee will vote to consider the nomination at a date to be determined. If elected to serve, member volunteers are to be active participants in all MCGOP efforts: attend regular meetings, promote the election of Republican candidates, organize, and operate effective political organizations in your Legislative District, engage in fund-raising activities and build grass-roots political support within Montgomery County. You would fill the remainder of this term ending in November 2026. It is fun, challenging, yet rewarding work.

MCGOP reserves the right to not interview applicants as well as to keep vacancies unfilled.

Delegates Nawrocki and Szeliga Respond to Schiraldi's Firing from the Department of Juvenile Services

(Baltimore County, MD) — Delegates Ryan Nawrocki and Kathy Szeliga released the following joint statement in response to the departure of Department of Juvenile Services Secretary Vincent Schiraldi:

“I’ve been sounding the alarm for months regarding Secretary Schiraldi’s failure as the head of the Department of Juvenile Services,” said Delegate Nawrocki. “With the firing of Schiraldi, the department must now work to reverse the rising juvenile crime rates and lack of consequences that have failed our communities. It is time for real solutions that stop the spread of crime that plagues our streets.”

THANKS FOR A SUCCESSFUL INTERNATIONAL PICNIC!

MCGOP Executive Committee Member Stacey Sauter and guests

On Saturday June 7th, the MCGOP hosted a lively picnic in Germantown to honor our multi-cultural society of immigrants. Over 70 people attended, with speeches from several folks sharing personal stories of their journeys here and what inspired them to choose America and the Republican party. These are folks who know how to spot true government corruption because they lived through it; they’ve experienced the serious degradations of communism and socialism. Many shared their personal stories of oppression, imprisonment, and poverty, along with deep gratitude for partaking in the American Dream. They’ve chosen the Republican party because to them it not only represents their own true commitment to freedom, faith, and family values, but the GOP is actively engaged in fighting for individual liberties -- something they were routinely denied in their countries of origin. Their stories were inspiring and eye-opening -- leaving everyone to feel that we cannot take a single day of freedom for granted!

Independent

Karine Jean-Pierre, former sleepy Joe Biden spokeswoman and Montgomery County voter is coming out with a book called Independent. Here’s our question of the week:

ENJOY FATHER'S DAY!

June is here, with all the summer fun. We’re doing a lot, and the good news is the Maryland legislature isn’t in session in Annapolis. That’s right – they can’t raise your taxes through the roof while you sleep!

Lot’s more happening in June, Flag Day, Trump’s birthday and Father's Day just to name a few. Happy Father’s Day to all the dads and father figures out there. I remember visiting my dad when he worked at the White House for President Carter. I was so proud of him, he was a great man, a smart man, and a Democrat! I loved him.

My dad with President Jimmy Carter

As I got older and thought more of politics, I decided that the Republican party was the best, with the best principles and ideas for a great future for our country. It’s a decision I’m happy with and am always happy to welcome great democrats to our side. That leads me to our MCGOP International Picnic.

We’re welcoming so many legal immigrants into the Party it’s exciting. People from around the world. Folks who have seen the problems unthinking, left-wing policies have brought to so many countries.

We’re having a June celebration to meet them, welcome them and listen to them and their amazing stories. I hope you can attend, and I’ll see you there.
