Battle School Indoctrination

By Hessie Harris

A number of schools have become indoctrination centers instead of centers of learning “Kindergarten girl afraid she would turn into a boy after transgender lesson, mom says,” Web, Aug. 29). Variously, homosexual and transgender ideology or Islam is being pressed on children without parents being aware it is being done, or else it is revealed to parents well after the fact.

Parents should be fighting, not fuming. If someone sought to physically harm their children, they would spring into action. Is the duty no less when their child’s mind is being attacked? The areas into which the schools are intruding are properly the province of parents, not schools.

Parents can stop these assaults. First, they must pay attention to what their children are being taught. A start is to inquire of kids, on a daily basis, what has occurred at school. Parents can also learn what is going on by visiting or volunteering at school and assisting on field trips. In addition, they should review their children’s homework assignments.

Second, if the school presents lessons or establishes policies to which the parent objects, parents should complain. If the complaints are ignored or not satisfactorily addressed, the parent must consider removing the child from that school and enrolling him or her in another school or doing home-schooling. A substantial decrease in enrollment will get the attention of school administrators.

Finally, parents can organize and get legal representation. There are groups with attorneys who will assist in these matters at reduced rates or even pro bono. There have been successful such efforts.

The stakes have never been higher, the danger never greater. Parents should be mindful of the following statements. Communist dictator Vladmir Lenin said, “Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted.” Former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy once said, “If you bungle raising your children, I don’t think whatever else you do matters much.”
