BIDEN'S STATE OF THE UNION LIES

When you’re the U.S. President the world is a stage, something proven by Biden’s well-rehearsed performative art during last week’s State of the Union address. There was palpable relief among the Democrats afterwards, with gratitude that their progressive pony will seemingly be able to finish the race. As for me -- and I hope for you -- his speech felt like an aggravated assault on my common senses. There were multiple outlandish contradictions in his remarks, involving things that are otherwise patently clear not to be true. Consider just these three:

• BIDEN, State of the Union, 3/7/24: “Overseas, Putin of Russia is on the march, invading Ukraine and sowing chaos throughout Europe and beyond. If anybody in this room thinks Putin will stop at Ukraine, I assure you, he will not.”
• BIDEN, press conference, 1/19/22: "I think what you're going to see is that Russia will be held accountable if it invades. And it depends on what it does. It's one thing if it's a minor incursion and then we end up having a fight about what to do and not do."
• COLD HARD FACT, 2/25/24: As reported by Ukrainian President Zelensky last month, “31,000 military personnel have been killed in this war.” And by one of the most notoriously evil men in modern history. Instead of playing footsie with Putin in the beginning, Biden should have threatened to chop off his foot if he stepped even one-inch over the border into Ukraine. Now Biden is trying to assure us that if not stopped, Putin’s murderous aggression will not end in Ukraine. His political fix? Blame Republicans for not providing more funding on demand for a war that might very well have been prevented in the first place with staunch American leadership.

• BIDEN, State of the Union, 3/7/24: “The pandemic no longer controls our lives. The vaccines that saved us from COVID are now being used to help beat cancer.”
• BIDEN, 9/16/20: Biden was an outspoken vaccine skeptic. According to The Washington Post, “Biden expressed reservations about whether a coronavirus vaccine approved by the Trump administration would be safe, raising doubts about the President’s ability to put the health of Americans before politics.”
• COLD HARD FACTS: It was under the Trump Administration that “Operation Warp Speed” became an all-out assault to develop and distribute an effective COVID-19 vaccine. Prior to the fast-track vaccine approval in 2020, his administration pre-organized a network of shipping, supplies and storage of the anticipated vaccine. And by October of 2020, tens of millions of kits were being assembled. Upon taking office in 2021, Biden changed his tune and not only began promoting the efficacy of the vaccines that he once dismissed, but took full credit for creating and enacting the distribution delivery system that was, according to former Trump officials, essentially their plan. Also recall Biden’s mandates that government workers – including members of the military -- take the vaccine if they didn’t want to lose their jobs. Talk about an inability to put the health of Americans over politics.
• BIDEN, State of the Union, 3/7/24: “In November, my team began serious negotiations with a bipartisan group of Senators. The result was a bipartisan bill with the toughest set of border security reforms we’ve ever seen in this country….This bill would save lives and bring order to the border. It would also give me as President new emergency authority to temporarily shut down the border when the number of migrants is overwhelming.”
• COLD HARD FACTS: The Washington Post, 2/12/24: “Illegal border crossings soared in the months after Biden took office and immediately rolled back many Trump-era restrictions….The number of people taken into custody by the U.S. Border Patrol has reached the highest levels in the agency’s 100-year history under Biden, averaging 2 million per year.”

Biden had full authority to open the borders in 2021, and retains full authority to unilaterally shut it down today. But he won’t. And now that illegal immigration has created a costly and even deadly problem in the U.S., he’s in want of a political scapegoat. "Every day between now and November, the American people are going to know that the only reason the border is not secure is Donald Trump and his MAGA Republican friends," Biden stated.

And these are only three examples of the gross contradictions and exaggerations made by President Biden during his State of the Union “campaign” speech. In fact, on closer examination, there did not appear to be one topic he hit upon without spewing some homespun-sounding falsehood. Let’s face it. We have an elderly, feeble man leading our country who, without the use of a teleprompter, often cannot string two coherent sentences together. He’s fed his lines, delivers them with seeming impunity, and without serious scrutiny by the mainstream media. His folksy lies might snow the more gullible and uninformed voters in our electorate to give him four more years. But remember and repeat as often as you can: tens of thousands are dead in Ukraine over a “minor incursion;” millions of lives were saved by Trump’s fast-track authority of  vaccines Biden chided as unsafe; and an unmitigated number of illegal immigrants have invaded our country since he took office while seriously straining our cities and our public coffers – all while he has the ability to correct the problem with the stroke of a pen.

Take note my friends: Biden is demented, derelict, and dangerous as our leader. And it’s time we put that progressive pony out to pasture.
