Because I did not vote for that President of the United States
Then they came for the Congressmen who pointed out the hypocrisy of the Democrats
And I did not speak out
Because I believed the Democrats supported me
Then they came for the conservative talk radio hosts
And I did not speak out
Because I did not listen to conservative talk radio hosts
Then they came for people who voiced their opinions on social media
And I did not speak out
Because I do not use Facebook, Twitter, Parler, Gab, or any other social media
Then they came for the “tea party” people
And I did not speak out
Because I had government health Insurance and was not a “tea party” person
Then they came for the people who supported the second amendment
And I did not speak out
Because I did not own guns and was not concerned about the second amendment
Then they came for Joe the plumber
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a small business person
Then they came for the people who complained after they lost their jobs when the economy collapsed
And I did not speak out
Because I had a secure well paid government job
Then they came for the practicing Christians
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Christian and not even religious
Then they came for the people who complained because there was no food in the stores
And I did not speak out
Because, as a Veteran, I had the commissary which was fully stocked
Then they came for the people who complained about their collapsed 401(k) plans
And I did not speak out
Because I had VA disability payments and a government pension
Then they came for the people who complained about the high gasoline prices
And I did not speak out
Because I owned a Tesla and wanted to save the world from bad carbon
Then they came for the people who asked why there was no future for their children
And I did not speak out
Because my children both worked for the government
Then they came for the people who complained they did not want to be judged by color of their skin
And I did not speak out
Because I was comfortable in my position and had civil service protections
Then they came for people who believed they had a right carry a sign and protest peacefully
And I did not speak out
Because I never went to protests or carried signs
Then they came for people who protested socialism and communism
And I did not speak out
Because I am the immigrant who left socialism and communism back in the old country
Then I realized the Democrats are socialist and communists
And they came for me
And there was no one left to speak out for me . . .
