First of all, Trump WILL NOT NAME his pick until the convention. Period. 

WHY would he name anyone until the very LATEST point in time possible,  when he can keep them all dancing on the head of a pin, 'auditioning' for the slot by campaigning their asses off for him? 

Answer - he wouldn't, because he's not stupid.

In 1974 I was a Republican candidate for the Montgomery county council. A republican congressman from Maryland, Lawrence Hogan, searched his soul and decided that Richard Nixon should no longer be President, and urged him to resign. I disagreed with that but admired him for speaking his mind. In the end Nixon did resign and Gerald Ford took his place.

We need a Democrat Lawrence Hogan now. We need a Maryland Democrat to suggest to Joe Biden that he resign. I see none on the horizon, not Raskin, not Alsobrook, not Trone. Certainly no Democrat congressman from Maryland will speak the truth to our challenged president.

Who will put the good of the country over politics? Leaders of countries that hate us are watching what we do.

Ladies and gentlemen, step up to the plate - just like Congressman Hogan did 50 years ago. 

After his dismal debate performance the left wing papers, networks, pundits and politicians are all talking about another candidate. Take our survey to see what other voters think. Survey results show when you vote.

Please join us at the Montgomery County Council building at 10:30am this Tuesday July 9^th to show support the 2T term limits petition. This will limit the County Executive to two four-year terms.

As you know, the Council will be pushing a competing bill to confuse voters. We need to turn out in force to show support for our petition. 2T t-shirts will be provided at the hearing.

They will also be discussing removal of the Flicker amendment that will make it easier to raise taxes.

Giving up one hour of your time will help convince the Council of our resolve to get term limits for the County Executive.

Also – Save the Date – Tuesday July 16 when public hearings will be held.

Single Party Government with no diversity of thought leads to the majority ignoring the wishes of the voters.

The all-Democrat Montgomery County Council learned a few years ago how to obfuscate the wishes of the voters and halt any changes in our County Constitution, the Charter.  When the voters, no matter how many thousand voters, petition the county to have a referendum to revise rules they don't like - the Democrat politicians add their own referendum - meant to stop any change. It confuses the heck out of most of the voters and end's up scuttling change for the better.

They're doing it again with the Two Term Amendment limiting the County Executive to an 8 year reign - just like the President and the Governor. But wait, there's more. Remember the popular amendment to require the whole Council to vote to raise your taxes? Too much they say, and they want to reduce the threshold to a majority...and they can do it.

No matter how many thousands of County voters want a change the Single Party Government can compete against them and win. Unfair you say? Let the people decide you say? Well, that's OK with them if the people decide the way they want them to vote.

Watch this video and tell me if you want to encourage more taxes, more lifetime politicians, and more ignoring of the voters' intent. And tell me what you think. It's OK, we're Republicans. We actually listen.

Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich seems to be in a little hot water. He thinks that referendum on term limits for his position will be on the ballot in November, and he expects to bear the brunt of the voters’ unhappiness. So, he has asked the Montgomery County Democratic Central Committee (MCDCC) for help. It makes perfect sense for him to call on his fellow politicians – after all, they have so much in common. Last October, Moderately MoCo reported that Somerset Mayor Jeffrey Slavin criticized the MCDCC for incompetence and financial mismanagement. As the saying goes, “Birds of a feather flock together.”

This week concentrates on issues of energy and climate particularly because Green parties in Europe in EU parliament races took a shellacking because of their loopy energy proposals.
