Leisure World - MC Republican Party Event

Leisure World Republican Club Hosts a Candidate Forum - March 11

By: Alina Zygmunt

All Democrats, Independents, and Republicans are invited to the “Candidate Extravaganza” to be held on March 11, 1:30-3:00 pm, in Leisure World’s Crystal Ballroom.

This special event is being held in association with the Montgomery County Republican Party.

Spring is around the corner, which ushers in renewal, growth, and new beginnings.  In the spirit of a brighter future, Republican candidates will offer solutions to major problems that polarize Maryland voters: crime, safety, taxes, government spending, high utility rates (energy needs), cost of living, and more! (These serious issues were identified in a poll conducted by The Institute of Politics at the University of MD, Baltimore County.)

Come and meet the Republican Candidates, who will initiate the changes that MD needs in order to survive in the future.  Dan Cox, John Myrick, Ed Hale and other candidates for Governor have been invited, as well as Republican candidates for Congress, County Council, and MD Senate and House Delegates.  Also invited are the non-partisan candidates for Judge and Board of Education posts.

All voters have the opportunity to listen to the presentations and chat with the candidates in person. Change in leadership is one solution to the voter pessimism that exists in MD today. We look forward to seeing you at this “Candidate Palooza!”

Washington Post:

You are correct.  The Post is mostly left wing propagandist.  We need a paper with reporters that are balanced and fair to all parties. I’m a native Washingtonian and I love living here.

Sully Says - Return School Resource officers

I am a graduate of Wootton High School, where a student was recently shot. I understand the victim is currently in stable condition.

This heartbreaking incident is a sobering reminder of how critical school safety truly is. It is deeply concerning that the Montgomery County Council, led by Will Jawando, voted to remove School Resource Officers from our high schools while claiming, “Montgomery County has the opportunity to lead on this.”

I firmly believe we must fully fund and support our police. Our schools need effective weapons detection and School Resource Officers in every high school to help protect students and staff.

Every parent, student, teacher, and community member deserves to feel safe—at school, at work, and in places of worship.

I am running to represent County Council District 1, and when elected, I will vote to support our police and restore School Resource Officers in our schools.

Delegates Szeliga and Nawrocki: Governor Moore's State of the State Focuses on Misplaced Priorities

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Following the Governor's State of the State address, Delegates Kathy Szeliga and Ryan Nawrocki criticized the administration's focus on political priorities over the rising cost pressures facing Maryland families. The delegates said the speech failed to address the state's growing affordability crisis, particularly soaring energy costs and the strain on working families.

Over the last three years, Governor Wes Moore has passed historic tax and fee increases to cover unsustainable, reckless government spending. Despite these historic tax increases, Maryland is still facing significant budget deficits due to the Governor's spend-and-tax approach. While Moore attempts to blame President Donald Trump for Maryland's fiscal crisis, his policies have driven up taxes and made your gas and electric bills unaffordable.

Fixing What Annapolis Won’t: Jobs, Energy, and a Plan for Maryland

Dear MoCo

Maryland families are feeling squeezed. Energy bills keep rising. Traffic steals hours every week. Development decisions are being made without the people who actually live here ever having a real say.

I hear this everywhere I go, and it’s exactly why affordability has to be more than a slogan. Families don’t need another speech – they need a plan that lowers costs, fixes what’s broken, and creates real opportunity without raising taxes.
