BIDEN'S STATE OF THE UNION LIES

By Stacey Sauter

When you’re the U.S. President the world is a stage, something proven by Biden’s well-rehearsed performative art during last week’s State of the Union address. There was palpable relief among the Democrats afterwards, with gratitude that their progressive pony will seemingly be able to finish the race. As for me -- and I hope for you -- his speech felt like an aggravated assault on my common senses. There were multiple outlandish contradictions in his remarks, involving things that are otherwise patently clear not to be true. Consider just these three:

  • BIDEN, State of the Union, 3/7/24: “Overseas, Putin of Russia is on the march, invading Ukraine and sowing chaos throughout Europe and beyond. If anybody in this room thinks Putin will stop at Ukraine, I assure you, he will not.”
  • BIDEN, press conference, 1/19/22: "I think what you're going to see is that Russia will be held accountable if it invades. And it depends on what it does. It's one thing if it's a minor incursion and then we end up having a fight about what to do and not do."
  • COLD HARD FACT, 2/25/24: As reported by Ukrainian President Zelensky last month, “31,000 military personnel have been killed in this war.” And by one of the most notoriously evil men in modern history. Instead of playing footsie with Putin in the beginning, Biden should have threatened to chop off his foot if he stepped even one-inch over the border into Ukraine. Now Biden is trying to assure us that if not stopped, Putin’s murderous aggression will not end in Ukraine. His political fix? Blame Republicans for not providing more funding on demand for a war that might very well have been prevented in the first place with staunch American leadership.

STOP OVERSEXUALIZING THE CHILDREN

By Amy Waychoff

It seems that every week, the Democrat members of the Maryland General Assembly outdo themselves by proposing increasingly radical legislation. This is what happened with HB 558 regarding the establishment of a state-wide “Comprehensive Health Education Framework.” An amendment was inserted into the bill that would prevent parents from opting their children out of “gender identity and sexual orientation topics.” Sounds like the legislators in Annapolis want to codify what Montgomery County’s school system is already doing!

IF YOU'RE GUILTY JUST DRIVE AWAY

Our esteemed Montgomery County Councilmember Will Jawando is proposing another bill to allow folks stopped by the police to just drive away and refuse to have the car searched if the cops feel there is a cause. This is one of a string of proposals he's made to disrespect police and hinder them from doing their work.

REPUBLICANS STOOD UP TO HELP THE MOCO POLICE DEPARTMENT

By Ann Guthrie Hingston

Marc Elrich’s Executive Order tied the hands of law enforcement. In 2019, County Executive Marc Elrich signed an executive order prohibiting local law enforcement from cooperating with federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Soon thereafter, we organized and hundreds showed up in a protest led by Larry O’Connor and Vince Coglianese of WMAL, Sebastian Gorka, Michelle Malkin and families of MCPD officers killed by convicted felons who were illegally in the United States. MCPD officers faced away from us to protect us as County officials and those they hired lined up across the street.

Policies have consequences. WJLA reports that so far this year Montgomery County has failed to honor 119 detainers and it is only February. Recently, reporter Brad Bell accompanied ICE agents as they attempted to arrest a non-citizen, convicted felon who had been the subject of an ICE detainer for deportation but was released from a local jail after 18 months.
