California Dreamin’
Nothing California Democrats do makes any sense unless we understand their primary motive. In short, as woke liberals, they will do nearly anything to feel morally superior. And that feeling has fueled their otherwise inexplicable defense of the indefensible. The latest example of this terrible woke pathology occurred Tuesday in California, where, according to KCRA-TV in Sacramento, the State Senate voted to include illegal immigrants in California’s first-time homebuyer’s program, and it did so despite the fact that the program has no money.

SHOULD WE INCENTIVIZING DEVELOPERS AND OTHER PLANNING RECOMMENDATIONS?
The County’s GIP is another piece of the puzzle that will move Thrive 2050 from a vision to reality. The GIP is the Planning Board’s guide to ensuring the County has adequate infrastructure, such as schools, transportation and storm water management, to support growth, but are those needs being met? And with Planning acknowledging there’s "insufficient funding to implement infrastructure recommendations in master plans" what does this mean to you and your community?

By Ann Guthrie Hingston
The movie "Reagan" is a reminder of how principled and determined leaders - Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher, and Pope John Paul II - brought an end to the Cold War and freed the peoples of Eastern Europe from communism. I recommend the movie especially to younger generations unaware of the dangers of Communism and how the tactics used by today's radical Left in politics, on campuses and on our streets are not new. They are the same Communist tactics we fought against in the Cold War.

A Cheap Fake Abortion Amendment?
Maryland "Right to Reproductive Freedom" Amendment
In 2023, the Maryland General Assembly passed a law (SB 798) placing the Maryland Right to Reproductive Freedom Amendment on the November 2024 ballot. This amendment to the Maryland Constitution would go much further than the 1991 state law that gives women an unlimited statutory right to abortion for any reason through birth.
Many Marylanders believe this is just an attempt to bring voters from the far-left to the polls, as a charade that abortion rights are threatened. But it can be used to further degrade the ability of parents and guardians to do what's best for their kids.
The proposed amendment says: “That every person, as a central component of an individual’s right to liberty and equality, has the fundamental right to reproductive freedom, including but not limited to the ability to make and effectuate decisions to prevent, continue, or end one’s own pregnancy. The State may not, directly or indirectly, deny, burden, or abridge the right unless justified by a compelling state interest achieved by the least restrictive means.”
