The Grand Old Party (GOP) meets in Milwaukee, Wisconsin next week to nominate Donald J. Trump as the Republican nominee for President.  Thanks to your support, the Montgomery County GOP Trump delegates will meet at the Fiserv Forum arena to express your wishes to help turn this country around.

While the Democrat nominee remains questionable, there’s no doubt we’ll put forward a tested and competent leader to restore our economy, our society, and our future. And when we return home, we’ll all continue working hard for our Republican slate here in Montgomery County—Donald Trump, Larry Hogan, Neil Parrott and Cheryl Riley.

I appreciate your willingness to help, so please continue volunteering (this newsletter is full of opportunities to step up).  We’re working on the National and Local level for needed change—from the White House to the State, County and School Board—we're working hard for you.

Last week we were inspired by the celebration of our country’s 248^th birthday. At that time, our founders developed a list of reasons why they sought to be free of the King of England’s rule. In this spirit, and with apologies to Thomas Jefferson, we offer our own Declaration of Independence from the rule of Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich.

This weekly report is very brief given the 4^th of July celebration. This report is on the debt incurred over the past four years and prospects for the next decade. Information is from Tom Moore and his Unleash Prosperity daily report with some small edits.

The Congressional Budget Office forecasts an increase in debt considerably more under Biden’s plans vs. those in place in January 2021.

In other words, the CBO now expects the debt to be $7.2 trillion higher than it had projected when Trump left office — all because of Biden’s reckless spending policies. And even though CBO sees tax rate reductions as restricting revenue and tax rate increases as always bringing in the anticipated revenue.

On July 9 the county council is expected to vote on whether to put a referendum on the ballot to allow it to raise property tax rates without an unanimous vote by the Council.  Gordie Brenne of MCTL details why the council should not change the unanimous requirement.

Honestly. I wish everyone would just stop with all this ridiculousness. 🤪

First of all, Trump WILL NOT NAME his pick until the convention. Period. 

WHY would he name anyone until the very LATEST point in time possible,  when he can keep them all dancing on the head of a pin, 'auditioning' for the slot by campaigning their asses off for him? 

Answer - he wouldn't, because he's not stupid.

In 1974 I was a Republican candidate for the Montgomery county council. A republican congressman from Maryland, Lawrence Hogan, searched his soul and decided that Richard Nixon should no longer be President, and urged him to resign. I disagreed with that but admired him for speaking his mind. In the end Nixon did resign and Gerald Ford took his place.

We need a Democrat Lawrence Hogan now. We need a Maryland Democrat to suggest to Joe Biden that he resign. I see none on the horizon, not Raskin, not Alsobrook, not Trone. Certainly no Democrat congressman from Maryland will speak the truth to our challenged president.

Who will put the good of the country over politics? Leaders of countries that hate us are watching what we do.

Ladies and gentlemen, step up to the plate - just like Congressman Hogan did 50 years ago. 

After his dismal debate performance the left wing papers, networks, pundits and politicians are all talking about another candidate. Take our survey to see what other voters think. Survey results show when you vote.

Please join us at the Montgomery County Council building at 10:30am this Tuesday July 9^th to show support the 2T term limits petition. This will limit the County Executive to two four-year terms.

As you know, the Council will be pushing a competing bill to confuse voters. We need to turn out in force to show support for our petition. 2T t-shirts will be provided at the hearing.

They will also be discussing removal of the Flicker amendment that will make it easier to raise taxes.

Giving up one hour of your time will help convince the Council of our resolve to get term limits for the County Executive.

Also – Save the Date – Tuesday July 16 when public hearings will be held.
