“We will not allow the MCPS Board of Education to strip us of our rights to religious freedom, we will be the voice of every child in the county and work until we restore the opt-out option.”

As of fall 2023, parents will no longer be allowed to opt their children out of reading books that MCPS schools have added to their curriculum.

In 2022, a collection of LQBTQ illustrated chapter books was added to the MCPS curriculum. As of 2023, these books had started to be introduced to students from kindergarten all the way up to eighth grade through group reading sessions and discussions, primarily in English classes.

Until May 1st of 2023, MCPS had allowed students to opt out of the readings. If the parents had opted the child out, they would not participate in the group readings and would be given alternative instruction.

Memorial Day is observed on the last Monday of May to honor the men and women who served in the U.S. military. For many, the holiday marks a time to visit a military cemetery or a war memorial in remembrance of those who served and fought to defend the freedom of America. For most people, Memorial Day marks the unofficial beginning of summer though we should take the time to explain the true meaning of the day to children and young adults and have a moment of reflection or prayer at gatherings with family and friends.  

If I may add one more request to that list, it is time for all of us to step forward and carry the torch of defending our freedom and liberty just as those brave women and men did who served our country.

Why did Lakeforest Mall in Gaithersburg close? Some folks have said it's because of the economy - yet Wheaton Mall and Montgomery Mall are still operating. Others say it was the incidence of violent crime at the Mall and surrounding Transit Center- involving murders, robberies, rape and assault. Was it competition from Amazon delivery or fear of crime and violence? Do you have faith in the county government to deal with it...or is everything just fine? Cut taxes, Unleash prosperity!

As County Executive Elrich and the County Council burden residents and businesses with tax increases, we celebrate tax cut crusader and economist, Stephen Moore, a Montgomery County Republican. Steve Moore advocates for a better method to increase tax revenue - reduce tax rates to unleash prosperity so businesses can create jobs and economic vitality.

Steve Moore is well known nationally as an economist, writer, television commentator and conservative organizer. He is a happy warrior who communicates often with humor. Recently his “Patriotic Millionaires Press Conference” went viral on Twitter as he pointed out the hypocrisy of “tax and spend” Democrats in Congress. See the video HERE>
