Welcome Aboard

By Dennis Brent Melby

I've just heard that the top contender for DC Mayor is a Socialist Democrat. She has the most money, the most support and is the front runner in the polls.

Do you think she'll join New York Mayor Mamdani and MoCo Executive Marc Elrich and MoCo Congressman Jamie Raskin as the Socialist Democrat faces of the Democrat Party? It sure looks like it. Meantime the Republicans are experiencing a surge, and who it is is surprising a lot of folks.

Former Democrats Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump

Seems folks are flocking to the Republican Party. Former Democrats, folks 30 and younger, young men, black men, folks with newfound religious convictions, legal immigrants who've become American citizens, Hispanic and Asian American - all the folks who the press uses hyphens to describe are reregistering as Republicans. Yes, even here in Montgomery County, long thought to be the Left of the Left.  And we welcome them.

Please help us make Montgomery County politics more rational, less doctrinaire and more normal. Here's how you can change your Party registration, just go HERE.

Take Action!

Great news! Because of the efforts of parents like you who took action and used your voice to ask MSDE to remove the topics of gender identity and sexual orientation from the MD Family Life framework, we have made headway!

I am happy to say that the new recommended Family Life framework for Maryland removes references to gender in grades Pre-K through 4.

They have recommended teaching those concepts in grades 5-12.

If you agree that introducing these concepts should be up to the parents, and that the concepts of "sex assigned at birth" or "gender identity" are not based in science, please click the link below to comment.  The state board will be reviewing the comments to make a decision on the final draft of this framework.  Please be specific and ask that lessons on gender identity and sexual orientation be removed from all grades, Pre-K through 12.

Here is the link to comment:  MSDE Health Education Public Comment Survey

If you prefer to send an email: [email protected]

Link to proposed framework:  Maryland’s Comprehensive Health Education Framework

Please spread the word!  We want hundreds of comments in favor of returning our schools to places that educate based on facts, and where parents control values based conversations with their children.

Thank you for being involved!

A Christmas Dilemma

(1)

By Lori Jaffe (With apologies to Clement C. Moore)

‘Twas the night before Christmas, Saint Nick wasn’t well.

Mrs. Claus called the elves with the ring of a bell.

“He’s down for the count; we’re in this too deep.”

The elves all fell silent, not even a peep.

“But what shall we do?!” came the cry from above,

“That’s a very good question,” said the Mrs. with love.

“We must get the presents to all of the kids

This won’t be easy, but we can’t hit the skids.”
