WE BACK THE BLUE

We support our women and men in blue. We support the police.

Every black and brown community, every immigrant community, every low income, and high-income community wants the protection of the police department.

Instead, the cops are constantly met with hatred and challenge after challenge by their own government. We can’t attract enough recruits to the vacancies we have because the officers-to-be don’t trust the county government to stand up for them.

We support the cops, we back the blue, we need more good cops - not more regulations to bind their hands. Nationally and in our state and county there are politicians who feel they can garner a great deal of support by screaming racism and getting votes that way. Don’t buy into that, we say to all the elected Democrats in Rockville and Annapolis - do what’s best for the whole county, and stop disrespecting the police.

Do you have a story of coming here legally? We welcome you. Tell us at [email protected]

New Chair for the Republican National Committee

We heard you, thanks for taking our survey last month. Over 95% said new leadership was a must. Ronna Romney McDaniel stepped down. Michael Whatley stepped up as Chair and Lara Trump as Co-Chair. Thanks for your input. 2024 is an important year for the country and the Party.

MDGOP Update 3

With just over a month left to go in the 2024 Legislative Session, Democrats are passing bills more frequently and the tax and fee increases are rolling out. If you haven't already, now is the time to get informed, get engaged, and make your voice heard in Annapolis to support GOP priorities, and oppose Democrat's big-government, far-left efforts.

Read below for bills with hearings this week that you can support:

IF YOU'RE GUILTY JUST DRIVE AWAY

Our esteemed Montgomery County Councilmember Will Jawando is proposing another bill to allow folks stopped by the police to just drive away and refuse to have the car searched if the cops feel there is a cause. This is one of a string of proposals he's made to disrespect police and hinder them from doing their work.

As crime and violence rises all around the Metro area, this will surely lead to more instances of lawlessness. Tell us what you think at [email protected]

REPUBLICANS STOOD UP TO HELP THE MOCO POLICE DEPARTMENT

By Ann Guthrie Hingston

Marc Elrich’s Executive Order tied the hands of law enforcement. In 2019, County Executive Marc Elrich signed an executive order prohibiting local law enforcement from cooperating with federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Soon thereafter, we organized and hundreds showed up in a protest led by Larry O’Connor and Vince Coglianese of WMAL, Sebastian Gorka, Michelle Malkin and families of MCPD officers killed by convicted felons who were illegally in the United States. MCPD officers faced away from us to protect us as County officials and those they hired lined up across the street.

Policies have consequences. WJLA reports that so far this year Montgomery County has failed to honor 119 detainers and it is only February. Recently, reporter Brad Bell accompanied ICE agents as they attempted to arrest a non-citizen, convicted felon who had been the subject of an ICE detainer for deportation but was released from a local jail after 18 months.
